Hello there,

I am trying to get photo reference on Romanian Army field uniforms and equipment, can anyone help out please?

In particular I am trying to find out what kind of webbing or load carrying rigs the Romanian Army use.

Any photos would be of great interest to me, and much appreciated.

Cheers,

Check out the Romanian Ministry of Defense website at www.mapn.ro You should be able to find all the photos you need of uniforms and web-gear.
Plus, punch in Romanian military or army in the above search button here at mp.net and you will have a couple threads with Romanian military photos.

I am amazed at how close are Spanish and Romanian. I visited that website and I can almost understand most of it. It is good to have Latin roots.

Thank you for this link, it was very helpful.

After some digging I found some excellent photos of Romanian troops - both in desert environments and Europe.

The 'woodland' camo seems to be based on the British DPM, and they don't seem to wear a lot of webbing at all. The main body armour might have load carrying capabilities though.

Fantastic resource. Thank you.

It is DPM. Our uniforms used to be made there, at least they did at one point during the transition to further eastern manufacture. Now of course they are made in China. And they're of such quality. I'm overjoyed with them.

Thanks for that feedback Sabre - you are in the Romanian Army?

If you are can you tell me some more about what kind of pouches you use, or webbing?

I'd really appreciate more information.

Cheers,

Think you got the wrong end of the stick there mate, I'm British. I was saying that the Romanians use our DPM pattern, and that the British uniforms used to be made in Romania, before being even further outsourced to China. A fact most squaddies are thoroughly pleased with, due to the vast increase in quality that has occurred due to PM Bliar's thunderously wise decision to save money by moving production to the far east.

They've obviously not been sewn on with such fortitude as demonstrated by the glorious PRC sewing-workers!

LMAO - 'du-oh'. Sorry mate...Wishful thinking on my part (thought I'd found a good source of gen)!

Nevertheless, that's very interesting info for me. Cheers.
