I've never own a watch in my life, but I think it's about time that I do. I'm thinking about this Rolex (http://www.rolex.com/rolex-and-you/montres/a18206-ho-pl-pr-aj-li.jpg)

Thoughts?

I own a dress watch but hardly ever wear it. I never take my Casio off though (really obvious tan line).

Personally, the most I could spend on a watch would be $70. Now for your girlfriend/fiance/wife, that's a whole different story... :D

I have a cheap but perfectly working Casio that I got as a gift. As for how much I'd spend on a watch, it all depends on the quality of it. I'm not going to shell out tons of money just for a name like Rolex or a fancy look.

Get a Tissot. It uses a OMEGA engine but costs 1/3. I bought mine for diving. It is good for 200 mts/660 feet depth. Sapphire glass. Weights a lot.

How could you make it through the army without a watch Jack?

And I suggest a swiss army watch.

The wife got this one for me, when I asked for a G-Shock. Instead, I got a sticker SHOCK when I found out how much it was. Its great to have a mother-in-law with "connections" ;)

Yeah, I said I don't own a watch not a digital watch.

A cheap watch tells time just as well. I wouldn't spend more than $50.

I was a private with nothing better to spend $420 dollars on in the PX, so I bought me a Suunto Advizor with heart rate monitor. It's the most comfortable watch to wear when shooting in the ****e in the hotass california desert, but in rocky desert areas, its' open face is a rock-magnet.

I know I know, waste of money. Whatever.

Rolexs are expensive, but that is a nice watch.

If you want it, get it. You only live once. No point in not getting what you want out of it.

Also, Rolexs have high resale value. They do require occasional maintenance though.
