after hearing another situation report/update on iraq, i'm still left to wonder if the US homeland as well as our troops know what their roles are in iraq.

i agree we are there to help form a stable govt, and root out (as best we can) those who oppose democracy or the troublemakers. it seems everything is in place, its just petty differences between shi'ite/shia that's always disrupting things. i'm just thinking that they should just have a 50-50 split...it doesn't always work w/differnt viewpoints/perspectives etc.. To parallel, we have republican/democrat but overall, under one govt.

should we just let them take the reins (politicians seem to not want to sit down and make progress), and our forces should just patrol ? i mean, its been a few years to set-up a basic govt and they have to learn their lumps somehow/sometime right ?? Have we lost our mission plan ? (then again, we citizens and servicemen prob lose sight of it).

Just think we should step back more and start to let them take hold and control.

What makes you think the US goal is stability in Iraq?

(hint: is Iraq about Iraq, or is Iraq the region?)

they said on cnn again today and on a video clip of prez saying that we wouldn't leave until iraq is stable enough to be on its own. but they don't seem to want to take the responsibility and try to push ahead. in a-stan Karzai stood out among others and is the leader of his country, and trying to handle state affairs. but even cnn correspondents question who is gonna take the lead in iraq.
