It would be interesting to know if this will be using for marketing or will actually be used to chase criminals. I can't see it being particually suited to chasing criminals because of the fuel costs and maintainance involved.

ROMA(*******) - A Lamborghini Gallardo that was intend to be given as a gift to the Italian Highway Police in Salerno to replace the Fiat Uno fleet has been stolen during the Official delivery Ceremony this morning. An anonymous correspondant said "...those b**** do not respect anything...".

I'm sure that high-strung girlie car Lambo meets all the stringent durability and reliability requirements of the police. I'd love to see it hop a curb at 40 mph. They'd be picking up carbon fiber chunks for weeks.

Italian police took possession Friday of a sleek, 500 horsepower, two-seater Lamborghini Gallardo, which can hit a top speed of 185 miles per hour.


The sports car, painted in the police's distinctive blue and white colors, comes complete with a flashing blue light on the roof and will initially patrol the Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway -- a road notorious in Italy for wild driving.


The Lamborghini will also be used to transport human organs for emergency operations.

it is definetly a hot car but it a a publicity stunt. You know they are only ordering one to march around in parades and stuff. Besides i know people that have lambourghini's and they say they are constantly in need of matinence.
