82nd ABN

I have a quesion for airborne soldiers here, just in general I was wondering if 82nd has other "recon" units than pathfinders.

I was in the 82nd in the 80's. So, my info may be dated. However, there is a Division level recon unit (LRSD). Also, every battalion had a recon platoon.

I also don't think pathfinders are really a recon unit, but they setup & guide other units into DZ's & LZ's

There was a LRSD company in my battalion (313th MI). During my time there they were transferred to the 17th Cav (82nd ABN).
