In Africa an humanitarian catastrophe is happening right now, that is WAY bigger than Iraq. Not that it interests anybody. :(

France should go there now, the EU needs a bigger army so that when the US off conducting a war at the whim of a president, the work that still needs to be done in the mean time can be.

I agree cut. But especially Germany needs to hasten thr transformation of its armed forces to an intervention capable army. France will never undertake a bigger intervention mission like this would be alone.
