Sorry no one is helping you. If I had some pictures i would post them for you. It always amazing me that in a forum where people are searching for things you always get like this "gaijinsamurai Good for you " who offer nothing but cheap cracks. and go search google post.

I am completely clueless on Belgian webbing. I appologize for being off topic, Dziwan.
I am just responding your (Hammerlock) remark on gaijinsamurai. I happen to know him personally and NO it was not a "wise crack". Probably like me, I am always interested in new finds and I am hoping someone knows something. I too like to see post which ask questions. I hope more people do ask questions. gaijin was just reafirming that also.
I have learned alot reading peoples Q's and A's on this forum and someothers.
Your remark is just as useless as any so for as the original poster asked, even mine. I only posted to clearify your misinterpetation of Gaijin intent.
Again sorry for moving off topic. I, too am waiting for some one who knows about Belgian webbing to add to this dicussion.

In all honesty-it was I who misinterpreted.
When I read the original post on the thread, I somehow thought Dziwan was starting a thread in order to tell everyone that he's doing research-not that he was making a request. I thought it was funny that someone would start a thread just to announce his research, so i replied "good for you".
Anyways-not to make excuses, but I was sick at the time (running a 102 fever) and not in full control of my wits.
I've already been slapped with an infraction by Delta Whisky, so in the future, will try not to be such a smartarse, even if it's unintentional.

There are some photos in the below thread about the Belgian battalion in the Korean war, but you cant make out the webbing very clearly. Someone else might be able to identify it, but to me it looks somwhat like the standard US WW2 webbing, but am undoubtably wrong.

OK, to get back on topic ...
I have a recent interest in this as well, having just acquired Belgian 'jigsaw' and 'brushstroke' camo uniforms.
I found this thread on FAL File Forums:

You may need to register to view the thread.
It seems that the Belgians used a local-made clone of the BAR Belt.
Hope this helps.

Webbing in the 50īs was mostly British webbing (belt, ammo pouches, yoke,..) water bottle was US style but the pouch looked more like British webbing fabric.
Attached is a pic of a full webbing from ebay iirc is from the early 60īs. I think is was used up untill the issue of the new camo gear. Hope it helps a bit. I wish I could describe it better. If you live close to Belgium, visit an army surplus store, they still have tons of the stuff.
If you want all real info contact the Belgian Military Museum in Brussels.Their website is http://www.klm-mra.be/. They have an English, French and Dutch version. If they canīt help no one can. Good luck.

Hi there,
I know I may be resurrecting a zombie thread but I've only just stumbled across this thread.
I too am in search of Belgian 37 Pattern webbing for my Congo Crisis project.
Below is what I collected at this years War and Peace Show.
1951 dated 37 Pattern belt

I noticed that there was no loop on any of the straps we searched through when delving into a box full of them at Beltring. Now this could mean several things.
1) The Belgian's didn't produce a cross strap with the loop to secure the other.
2) The trader merely had a box full of one type of cross strap.
3) I just couldn't see any cross straps with a loop on them.

Hi, thanks for the info above. I have few more questions about the equipment of Belgian paratroopers in 60s.
1. Trousers - were they of british battledress style, e.g. made of relatively thick, hairy stuff? On pictures from Congo hostage crisis operation, they donīt look so. Which color were they? How often the brush camo smock trousers were used instead, or only on top?
2. Helmets - were they used at all? If so, it was US M1 helmets or different ones? Up to now I saw berets only. Were those berets two-sided, red from outside and lets say green from inside, or only red side was used?
3. Boots - when the transition from ankle boots + leg wraps to standard high boots occurred? What was the leg wrap material made of?
Thanks!
