Larue Tactical (maker of your handguard) advice against bridging the mounts between upper reciever and handguard. It may screw up POI of your rifle.
Very nice rifle!

Putting one scope mount on the reciever and one on the handguard is not a good idea. Too much flex between the two.

ya i really didnt want to but that was the only way i could get the right eye relief. I shot the **** out of it out to about 600 yards and it out preformed the bolt actions so im not gonna mess with it. if i can hit what i aim at im all kinds of happy.

Try the LaRue SPR mount; this will get the scope out front. That is what I use.

†Seraphim†, I have to disagree with your assessment of the rifle. I opened up the images in the photoshops to check something and I believe I have conclusive proof that it is not airsoft.
Exhibit A:
http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/571/nored1uy0.png
Exhibit B:
http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/3972/nored2vu7.png
You will notice that in both of these magnified images that there is no red band at the end of the barrel as would be the case if this were an airsoft gun.
As the old saying goes "if there's no red, it must fire lead", therefore I believe you "jumped the gun" on this one.

The dead give away that the rifle is NOT an airsoft is that it's missing the auto sear pin on top of the selector. All the airsoft wannabes have that so it looks like the real thing. The M60 on the far left however is another story.

Here is an example....
My SPR broken down.....
http://photos.imageevent.com/smglee/cltactical/huge/SPR-002.jpg
This upper was actually build by the original guy who build the first batch of SPR for CRANE, since I shot mostly 55gr and 62GR TAP, the 5R barrel was turned with 1:9 twist minus the M4 feed ramp since the upper i provided at the time did not have a feed ramp cut and I did not find the feed ramp of any sufficinet use with a precision rifle.
the LMT enhanced bolt was re-fitted to the match chamber, PRI gas buster, PRI flip up front sight. OPS brake with collar, and the original PRI Gen2 rail with the original ARMS SPR mount.
I selected a 4x ACOG TA31 with a prototype Larue mount at the time for some up close fun.
Accuracy Speak trigger round off the lower with LMT SOPMOD stock, MGI hydralic buffer anda wolff extra power spring.
Insight PEQ2 and a Surefire M962SU and IR filter cap round of the package for night time shoointg. A PVS14 can be mounted for any IR work.
this gun with a 55gr TAP and the 4x ACOG, i can regualrly hit a torso size steel plate out to 750 yrds. how effective is the ammo at that range is another story.
here is an earlier pic of the same gun running a LR/T

there is always at least one of these type of question when ever i post a pic on MP.net....:)
like Stuka said... I bought stuff like mad and registered them prior to 1994 ban and again in 2000. also some registered AW in 1989.....plenty of grandfathered weapons that I can NOT sell in the state of California nor could I pass down to my kids. I haved to move out of state or sell it to outer state residents, but in order to sell, i have to find a AW delaer which area bout as rare as class 3 dealer in Cali.

You're missing my point. I'm just saying that it's obvious that it's a civilian version of a MK12 SPR because it shows no feature of a select fire receiver. I never said anything about it being a real military issued MK12. I said that it may very well be a real weapon and not an airsoft.

It's rented for the high profile Opp (Irene 4, IIRC) - they had an M113 as well (if it's the same event)... The guy organizing these really goes an extra mile and are worth the money - too bad the flaws of everything airsoft really does hamper these events...
