Pamela Anderson sworn in as a U.S. citizen

Pamela Anderson is recognized the world over for being an actress, PETA spokesperson, and the former wife of rock star Tommy Lee. Now she can add another title to the list: U.S. citizen.
Anderson, 36, passed the 10-question American citizenship test Wednesday. Her lawyer, Barbara Federman, said she was then sworn in at a private ceremony in Los Angeles.
"She was terrific and she was very excited to study the civics and passed with flying colors," Federman said. "She enjoyed every minute of it."
Anderson was approved for citizenship eight months after she applied. The famously buxom beauty was born in British Columbia, and moved to California in 1989.
"I felt it was important to become a U.S. citizen in order to vote in the United States," she said in a statement. "U.S. Citizenship will allow me, in the future, to petition to bring my children's grandparents down to the United States to care for them once they become older."
"I have no intention of giving up my citizenship in Canada and am very proud to be a Canadian," she said.
Anderson has two American-born sons, Brandon and Dylan.
She also writes a column for two magazines -- the Canadian Elle, and Jane.
Her first TV role was playing Lisa, the Tool Time Girl on the television series Home Improvement. But Anderson achieved fame for her role as one of a team of attractive lifeguards who patrol a crowded recreational beach on Baywatch.
In 1998, Anderson branched out with top-billing as a glamorous private investigator in the syndicated TV show V.I.P. Her now larger-than-life persona is currently bringing life to the animated series Stripperella.
Trading the Maple Leaf for the Stars and Stripes is nothing new for Canadian-born stars.
Actor Michael J. Fox and Jeopardy host Alex Trebek are just some of the north-of-the-border stars who now have the right to vote in the United States.
