Does the SR-25 used by australia forces has any special trademarks? or they're the exact rifle used by the U.S. If you got some aussie sr25 photos, would you post'em here? I never seen one.

note - I want make an aussie sr25 from a civilian verison of sr25, if any major or minor difference, please tell me..

They look like the MK11Mod0 version of the SR25.

In the first pic, looks like they are using the scope off their Accuracy International rifle

Second pic, it looks like it is a pretty standard Mk11 affair

ya alot of diffrences, the biggest? ooooo i would have to say ones a 7.62 the other is 5.56. I assume when you say SPR your talking Mk12? its like comparing a F150 to a ranger.

Several points. First, we don't have that many "sr-25" type rifles. They aren't issued in wide numbers and (IMO), it would probably be cheaper to buy small numbers of purpose built rifles, than to undertake a program to upgrade old SLRs. Secondly, the SLRs are old weapons and are not manufactured anymore. Thirdly, the cover on the receiver of the SLR is not the most secure place to mount optics (though there are ways to get around that problem).

Because, As much as it pains me to say, it really wasn't worth it. We tried to accurize it a little while back, outfitting with a heavier barrel and a trued up action, but the action doesn't lend itself to precision. It's also very weighty, and with a heavier barrel, it becomes a burden. The ADF has better things to spend it's limited money on, and dolling up old war horses ain't worth it.
. As I remember Lithgow SAF had a go, and they designated it "S.A.F Lithgow Target Rifle 7.62mm" . It looked the part, with Peep apertures and chunkier fore end wood, and they did away with the magazine, which made it able to have a much more solid casting for the upper receiver. They basically made it a straight pull bolt action..........It did well, though was deemed too temperamental towards adverse conditions.

i agree with you both, we all want one but in the back of our heads we know there's better, lighter and in the long run cheaper out there.
