View Full Version : So can manly men now listen to Enya?

This is what I'm wondering. Enya has always been at the wussy end of wussy music. Her music is the auditory equivalent of synthetic estrogen. HOWEVER, some secret committee decided that her music was going to be the official music of 9/11 memorial videos (I'd say 2/3s of 9/11 tributes I've seen have Enya music), and now there's even a GrouchyMedia clip with her music.

So what's up with this? Is Enya now "cool" for big tough guys to listen to? What's going on here?

hmmm sounds like a commie/al-quaeda plot to subvert the manliness of the west...better stick to AC/DC just to be safe.

Great pick up line:
"How you doin'?"
"Fine"
"Got any 'Enya'?"
"No"
"Ya want some?"
*slap*

What?

Enya is pretty lame. For atmospheric mood music an Irish band named Clannad is far superior.

Was it Enya singing in the Gladiator soundtrack? If it is, I guess I'll have to confess I somewhat like her...but all the other stuff...no...if I wanna chill out there's better stuff...

I think the gal from 'Clannad' is actually the sister of the gal from 'Enya'.

No ****? Yikes.

I like to listen to that stuff in the background when I'm painting. Hells Bells isn't conducive to smooth paint strokes. ;)

Yep. Clannad is a bunch of family members, and Enya was actually part of Clannad for most of the 1980s, until her first solo album in 1988.

I have some Enya, I'm more of a production fan though. Her albums are always mixed top notch - massive reverbs.
