View Full Version : Sniper rifle of the SAS and SASR
just a simple question, does the brit SAS and aussie SASR uses AWM/AWSM .338? it's really confusing, there isn't any source saying both special forces use the rifle (books, websites.. etc only listed L96a1 and AW SR-98 as they're sniper weapon) but some of the news report saying during sniper mission they do use AWM.

they have used the L96 in 7.62 and .338 don't know what that version is called plus the uber gucci supressed version
plus loads of other cool stuff there special they have a budgetto spend :)
British have officially adopted a .338 magnum rifle for regulars so it likely that it'd be in use by the UK-SAS.
The Aussies? Don't know about a big-.30 but, they do have the AW50F (.50 cal) with HEI rounds.

SASR: AW-50F, SR-25 and SR-98. I have seen photos of the SASR using the SR-25 in Timor. I have never heard of them using a AWM. But you never know.
I don't know.
but this is cool:
