U.S. Offered Berg a Flight Out of Iraq
Thursday, May 13, 2004
WASHINGTON — The U.S. government warned Nicholas Berg (search) to leave Iraq and offered him a flight out of the country, a month before his grisly beheading was broadcast on an Al Qaeda (search)-linked Web site, officials said.

I wouldnt call his father an idiot, hes obviously having a hard time. But i think he does need to stop blaming the US government for his son's death. His son chose to be there, went there on his own free will for his own business ideas. He even rejected an offer to be flown out.

The man is an idiot at best, a liberal nutjob using his son's death to Bush-bash at worst.
If my oldest daughter chose to go there, chose to ignore U.S. urging to leave (Berg was interviewed and warned no less than THREE times by the FBI!!!), and suffered the same fate, I would blame her judgement, not Bush's.
Berg Sr.'s suffering is no excuse. Stupidity is stupidity.

Hey folks, even idiots face loss, lose children, and grieve. Pls stop underscoring their grief. It's a given they're going to grieve, but their anger is misdirected and stupid.
This, is legitimately blaming a president for the death of a son:
According to Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Mark Bowden – who penned a book with the same title as the movie and on which the film is based – the American force immediately began taking hostile fire when they landed.
"Fire was getting heavier. To officers [at] the command center, it was as if their men had poked a stick into a hornet's nest," Bowden wrote.
McKenny said one incident that wasn't in the movie had to do with the rescue mission commanders put together to extract U.S. troops.
"After the troops began to take terrible casualties and [a pre-staged] reaction force could not get to them, it was necessary to force, at gunpoint in some cases, the Malaysian and Pakistani commanders to move their tanks in and rescue the American troops," he told WorldNetDaily.
McKenny said History Channel depictions of Bowden's book "shows tanks finally – after some of the soldiers had died unnecessarily – shows the armor moving in to take care of the situation, but it was many, many hours too late."
Shortly after the battle, the Clinton administration and, specifically, the late Les Aspin, Clinton's first defense secretary, were criticized heavily by military experts because the American force had been sent in to a known Aidid stronghold without proper air and armor support.
Indeed, commanders for the mission had requested Bradley armored personnel carriers for their men, but Aspin and the Pentagon refused the request.
"Every Ranger who was there (at the battle) knew that it was absurd not to have tanks or armored personnel carriers and other air support denied them for political reasons," McKenny said.
The author also noted that James Smith, a former Ranger captain and father of Cpl. Jamie Smith – who bled to death after he was shot in the leg during the battle, because he could not be evacuated – returned a letter of condolence from President Clinton. In rejecting it, he sent a letter of his own, blaming Clinton for the Mogadishu debacle.
Also not in the movie was an after-action incident between Clinton and the parents of two Rangers – MSgt. Gary Gordon, 33, and SFC Randy Shughart, 35 – who were killed in action but posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for their actions.
McKenny said that family members were invited to the White House to receive the medals. Clinton reportedly invited the parents of Gordon and Shughart into the Oval Office for a private meeting.
When he did, "he stuck his hand out to shake the hands of the parents, but Randy Shughart's father refused to take Clinton's hand."
Then, McKenny said, "he looked Clinton in the face, told him he was responsible for his son's death, that it was for no purpose and that he wasn't fit to be president or commander in chief."

Yeah really incubs, you sound like a 12 year old when you talk about this stuff. Everything to you is libereal Democrat=stupidity and wrong and Conservative Republicans=smart and right. Its not all black and white like that dude. Its like every post youre insulting someone or their ideas and values. Chill out man, just cuz someone bashes the President doesnt give you the right to call em names and act like they dont know what theyre talking about. And im not a "liberal fag" or whatever either, im very conservative, and Bergs dad could be crapping on President Bushs desk right now but frankly, even though Bush really didnt have the much involvment in his sons death, he would have that right, hes gone through a ton of crap right now. you sound just like i did whehn i didnt really know much about what was going on, so if someone said something i didnt like they were automaticly a hippy communist. And beleive it or not, but the most staunchest Right wing Marine Corp general might have something bad to say about the War, doesnt mean you should insult him anymore than you would saying something bad about Bush or whatever. This sounds kinda stupid, but its late, but bottom line: Chill your ass out, youre not God, stop critizing everyone and open your mind alittle bit and learn alittle bit more about what your talking about. Its getting annoying as hell seeing you posting about everything and its all sounding like its come from a 9 year old or someone who has hemroids whos in a pissy ass mood all the time.
