There used to be an old AK-47 chest rig on Cheaperthandirt and now I can't find this rig anywhere. I'm most likely blind but can anyone please help me find a seller?

Then maybe you should have said that in your original post.

Supply and demand.

Next time post it in the right section, Airsoft is the next forum down.

Nope, not for airsoft. I just want something easy to carry around three magazines at the range. Would a bandoleer be any better?

This is not for airsoft, buddy.
I'm not your "buddy" so lay off the smart ass remarks.

And if this if this is for the range why wouldn't you just use somthing like a standard G.I. mechanics bag, They work fine for carrying 6 to 8 magazines and cost around $6.00.

Pyrrhic

Because I don't want a bag, if I had wanted a bag I would of asked for one.

Then just spend the extra $7 bucks and buy the rig off of e-bay!

I was suggesting the bag for the simple reason of cost, If you're worried about having to spend an extra few dollars to buy a chest rig then I thought you might want another option so excuse the hell outta me for trying to give you an alternative.

Perfectly understandable, we NEED to have that super awesome "Tacticool" Chest Rig look right?

What happened to the good old days where you took your rifle, some boxes of ammo, a few magazines and just shot at the range. These days I see people bringing in everything including the kitchen sink -- literally.

They literally brought a kitchen sink to the range?

Wow, didn't know airsoft pellets were this big.
Just a friendly reminder: A lot of people on this forum shoot real guns. Some even get shot at in return.
That you have "actual" AR magazines is fine, but not as impressive as your post (and picture) make it out to be. "Nope, not for airsoft" would have sufficed.

Unfortunately, yes. A few years ago at the local outdoor range, a family showed up with a BBQ grill, drink cooler, and yes - a bloody portable sink for lacking a better term.

your AR mags would be very loose inside the rig..

have you look into the Blackhawk chest rig? holds like 4 AR mags and it is not too expensive...

http://www.gearzoneproducts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=488

If they still have it in stock, this would be a decent buy.

why buy gear that cheap? Buy something decent and it will hold up better and work better to feed ammo to your Ar platform.

That chicom vest would simply not work with AR mags, the pouches are so deep that you wouldn't be able to get the mags out, unless you stuffed the bottom of the pouch with newspaper or a piece of foam.

Go to gun shows or an Army surplus store. Shouldn't be no more then 12 bucks.

Ain't that the truth. I see people bringing all kinds of crap to the range, my favorite is the empty drop holsters the under 21 year olds wear...

I bought my chicom AK chest rig from sportsansguide in July 2006, and youre right, they have stopped selling them(Ibought mine for $10.00 there).
take a look at http://www.mooremilitaria.com/new_page_6.htm
there is one there, but it is $40.00, and the is more than you want to spend I assume.

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://tucsonshooting.com/pic/07-5/010-5-4-07-112.jpg&imgrefurl=http://gunwebsites.com/Gun_Article_Detail.php%3Fg%3Dcontent1179709352&h=375&w=700&sz=56&hl=en&start=9&um=1&tbnid=TclBK-y-VLm15M:&tbnh=75&tbnw=140&prev=/images%3Fq%3DAK%2Bchest%2Brig%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG
is and interesting article, but I understand that is a little ways down the line though.
By the way, on the chicom chest rig, 2 of the 3 mag pockets can hold 2 M16/M4 mags a piece. then the other mag pouch only holds one. so that is a total of 6 M16/M4 mags that you can carry(180 rds.) And they hold pretth securely, and with pultabs, they come out pretty easily. I have seen some pics of ANA soldiers stuffing two AK mags into some of the pouches, but those were likely russian model chest rigs.
I dought this was much help, but I thought It might be interesting.

hauser have you ever put m4 mags in a chicom?

Yeah, and it was needlessly hard. I could still get them out, but I had to stick my fingers down into the pouch for a few inches. Much more inconveniant than AR made pouches like in the blackhawk rig.

Not to be rude in any way or form but we have already cleared this up on the first page. This is not for airsoft. Please move it back.

you might want to take a look at http://cgi.ebay.com/NOS-Eagle-NATO-8-Magazine-Holder-Chest-Rig-Black_W0QQitemZ330174633448QQihZ014QQcategoryZ70991QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
that might be a good choice, holds eight mags if im not mistaken. more than the chicom. If you do ebay, you might want to consider that one if you haven't already made up your mind. And not to mention, Eagle industries is a good company. Then again, you might NOT want to get that one, from what I it is a understand that is a collectable.

but take a look at this one http://www.eagleindustries.com/prd_detail.asp?ProdID=395&CatID=40&SubCatID=16
that carriers 4 AR mags, and two pistol mags, still more than the chicom.
Hope this helps.
