Scroll down and click on the Vincente Fox interview.

"We need to go beyond NAFTA."

He also exposes plans for a South American Union.

No longer a "tin-foil hat" issue anymore.

EDIT: Also on Larry King the other night...

KING: Earlier today in an interview, your successor, President Calderon said that anti-immigration sentiment in the United States is fuelling anti-American feelings in Mexico. Do you see -- if you agree, what is the implication of this?

FOX: Well, what I see is fear dominating people here -- or some people here because it's still, I would say that a majority of your citizens would go along with a reform, done with a proper intelligence and solve this problem once and for all and convert it into win-win situation.

And so to me, migration is an asset to the United States. The United States is losing jobs to China, to Asia, to Europe. The automobile industry in the United States is going broke and losing market share every day. And when we get together, Mexico's capacities, Canadian capacities, United States' capacities, and we build up NAFTA cooperations, then they become competitive and they can be in world markets.

KING: Are you interested in the United States' presidential race?

FOX: Of course. Like everybody else in the world, we would like to see back this leadership of the United States.

KING: Do you have any favorite?

FOX: Difficult to say because when you listen to candidates, everywhere, they talk too much. They concrete things very little. And -- but a lady would be my choice.

KING: Hillary.

FOX: A lady would be my choice.

KING: There ain't no other lady running.

Correct me if i am wrong, but aren't the rich pushing out the poor in Mexico? I see it happening in the states is the main reason i bring it up. As an area begins to flourish economically the taxes are raised, more expensive amenities seem to show up (Starbucks, Stone Slab Creamery(think ice cream - $5 for a cone of ice cream at that!), Panera Bread, etc.), & housing goes through the roof at a premium. This pushes the middle class and lower class out of the area quickly due to rising costs of living. If Mexico and the US come under some kind of trade/labor/whatever agreement, then won't the US dollar loose even more value, job wages go down across the board, & a general sense of American patriotism drop even more?

This kind of an agreement/trade "opportunity" will bring the standard of living up in Mexico, but bring the standard of living in the US down to compensate. Is this a good idea?

On another note, why isn't Mexico trying to fix it's own problems? Why does the US have to be the answer for their financial/economic woes? I understand there is corruption at the highest levels of government there (as well as here for that matter), but come on!

Am i completely off base here?

Vicente Fox admits plans for a North American UnionNice title. Very sensational, but not particularly representative of the truth. Fox is no longer the President of Mexico. He's merely expressing his opinion that he believes that the NAU is a good idea. I don't see anything in the interview indicating the existence of any current plans for the formation of a North American Union.

Ron Paul interviews with comments on the N.A.U.

They are working on it, they just don't want us to know yet.

The groundbreaking legislation was approved and agreed upon during his term as President.

Vicente Fox, is considered to be a big stone in the shoe nowadays, he´s considered to be completley stupid, controled by his wife, wich is even a lot more unpopular in Mexico.

He is out of the loop, and not even his party mates want to be near him, the probelm is that he simply can keep his mouth close.

I don´t know the image he has on the outside, but down here in Mexico people just can´t stand the poor bastard.

I happily look forward to the day when I can use my Canadian dollars to hire an American to mow my lawn.

You bet. The world's richest man is a Mexican. Yet his government is actively trying to offload their dependency class into the US.

A lady wouldn't be a bad choice. But there are none running.

So...I assume you'll go ahead and volunteer to take on the burden of caring for not only the poor of your own nation, but those of neighboring countries?

We used to take them, it says so on the Statue of Liberty, but we're kinda getting a little swamped, how about you suck it up and take care of them on your side of the border for a change.

You guys didn't get it.

Anyways, you guys shouldn't worry too much. The immigration laws in the US are getting tougher, that is pushing them back and making people think twice before heading north.

.....then won't the US dollar loose even more value......

When you say that, I imagine a new currency to compensate, but i doubt it. The end of the story is, all of America will be f*cked except for the rich whom nothing phases. War don't phase the rich. Bad economy don't phase the rich. We need a president with a poor mans perspective. Would that be the answer?

With presidential campaigns costing over a hundred million bucks, where you gonna find a man with a "poor man's" perspective? If you are not heavily connected, you don't get near the Presidential bid podium....and that's a fact! The days of jumping up on a tree stump and successfully arguing your case to be Prez are long, long gone.

roflyou've got to be kidding!? I think this is the funniest I thing I've read all week. The only thing getting tougher about our immigration laws are enforcing them, it seems any one that tries to enforce them is called a "racist"

Lou Reeds take on the Statue

Give me your hungry, your tired your poor I’ll piss on ’em
That’s what the statue of bigotry says
Your poor huddled masses, let’s club ’em to death
And get it over with and just dump ’em on the boulevard

I have an idea, how about we (U.S.A) let the rest of the world form their interdependent community of nations (sounds like a place where a bunch of sissy's live) and we just continue to live free and enjoy liberty.
