Up the present and here the future.

The first of 62 VRCC-105 Centauro Ordered must arrive this year to Numancia and España Light Cavalry Regiments.

An AMX-30EM2 with his replacement the VRCC-105 Centauro.

As soon as posible the Pizarro IFV will replace to the M-113. Second phase of Pizarro Program has been aproved last year with 212 new vehicles.

Before 2008 all M-60 must be replaced by Leopards 2A4 transfered form Mechanised Brigades or with new Leopardos 2E. All 108 Leo 2A4 will be modernized to "E" standard beyond 2008.

An old programe to equip the brigade of an organic unit of helicopters is in study. Perhaps with the BO-105 transferred of the BHELAI that is going to receive 24 Tiger HAP & HAD or may be recibe some of them.

This picture strongly reminds me to an exercise I participated in. It was near Zaragoza. Perhaps you know if this picture was taken there?

I believe that this photo was taken during exercises at the CENAD (National Training Center) of San Gregorio (Zaragoza).

It not seems to be like San Gregorio, i think that is the field , near the headquarters of the regiment. San Gregorio is like a desert.

This is the Leopard 2 KWT. The first experimental upgraded version of the leopard 2A4. The final adopted (German) version kept his round front lights, rejected the heavy armor on the top of the turret and some more stuff. This version looks the most on the Swedish leopard.

The leaopard 2A6 is easily to recognise by the 1,3 meter longer barrel and some more details.

greets,

roger

MARINO, you say the training camp of the General Ricardos Base? Mmmm perhaps, but the field of San Gregorio isn't like "only" a desert. It have a wide range of landscapes. Although the most well-known part being most apt for the movement of armored vehicles is the more desertified zone.

Some pics of CENAD, from past january (19-23) taken during a tactic and real-fire exercises of the Castillejos II Brigade.

It's a desert, that's correct, but in one spot there were trees planted like the ones shown in the picture. They are almost similar. Whe had our base there for about a week, so I'm quite sure, although the picture doesn't show that much about the environment...

Haha, no I'm not a tanker, I was with the maintenace platoon from the 42 Tankbataljon, so I fixed wat the tankers damaged :D !
I was in service when the Leopard 2A4 was replaced by the Leopard2A5, and in thoose day's we received many gifts from Kraus Maffei (the German builder from the Leopard), and also a huge poster from the experimental Leopard KWT. That was this picture :D !

greets,

Roger

You had to fix a lot probably.... ;)

You had to fix a lot probably.... ;)

No, not realy. Ofcourse, sometimes I wondered myself HOW humans (Tankcrew) can break solidsteel, and than tell us that it simply feld off  ...
The leopard is the best tank in the world, and compaired to other NATO tanks like the Abrams, Challencer and the Leclerc, the Leopard is Maintenace friendly. So if something might break, it is replaced within minutes or hours. I never saw huge problems we couldn't fix in 4 years.

Greets,

Roger
