Feeling a little selfish today, and I recently got an album at photobucket, so I figure I could post a few pics here for all to see. More to come for sure once I get around to it.

This one will eventually be my avatar, once I re-scan and re-size it. It's my SAR school completion patch, and I wear it on the right shoulder of my BDUs (yes, we wear colored patches on our BDUs, since we like to be seen on SAR missions):

I've been meaning to put this one here for awhile, but never really got around to it. This is my 24hr SAR gear, used for Civil Air Patrol ground SAR missions. It was all bought with my money, and it has so far served me well:

Then what is up with the beret?

I wear the blue beret because I am a member of my squadron's honor guard team, and that is our approved headdress. We only switch it for a BDU cover or helmet or whatever when the situation calls for it. The situation that weekend did not call for it, since we were not on a real mission, and we like to distinguish ourselves when we get the chance.

I saw the thread around here about the Chinese AWACS, and it prompted me to dig up these pics from sometime last year when I got to ride in a KC-135 and refueled an E3 AWACS.

KC-135 is from ANG's 190th Refueling Wing "Kansas Coyotes" out of Forbes Field, Topeka, KS. Student pilot in the AWACS, so it took about 20 minutes for the poor guy to even hook up.
