7th Naval Beach Battalion

Does anyone have any info on the 7th Naval Beach Battalion or any other Naval Beach Battalions. Did they fight as Naval Infantry like Marines and go inland or what did they do ?

Their main job was getting landing craft to the right place, getting troops to the right exits and medical support/evacuation. Wouldn't have gone inland, they were the link between the army and navy.
