Try OR USMC gaiters, I got a pair they are good as all the stuff Outdoor Research makes. You can order them on the site of US Elitegear: www.us-elitegear.com

Outdoor Research Crocodiles (as Donut posted) are kinda the only way to go.
The'yre alpine gaiters though, so if you're gonna be going somewhere hot, you'll retain heat just that much more...

If it's hot fcuk the gaiters..what do you need them for.....On the other hand OR have the best cold weather gaiters i ever came across, I have a pair of really thick big motherf**ers from OR...they cover the whole boot and have really thick inserts... they rock when you're doing winter mountaineering in really low temperatures.
Nice...I even found a pic on the Internetz

Insulated supergaiters.
IFAV, are you using them to keep snow out, or just dirt/pebbles/crap?
I painted my Black Diamond Frontpoint GTX (Basic gaiters, Goretex) with tan spraypaint a couple years ago... needless to say, it comes off easy. Kinda wish I had the coyote brown ones, but it doens't matter for me, not intending to keep a certain uniform anymore.

Sorry we are from a different neck of the woods.....everything I can imagine..or remember, requiring gaiters in hot climates there was no choice of colours. Thick leather is brown and that's about it.

If you don't need warmth, try these:
http://www.rei.com/product/697872?vcat=REI_SEARCH
The'yre cheap ($20 here), designed to keep the dirt and foliage out while not heating up. I don't use them, so I can't comment. I have used alpine type gaiters in the desert before, but it was cool out (30-50 degrees F). I would want something like the desert gaiters if I just wanted to keep crap out, and it was warm outside.

Had a mid size one (meter and a half or so) try to latch on to the bottom of my diff the other day as I passed over the top of him at 120kmh. I was looking back in the mirror expecting to see him a bit squashed, but he was busy uncurling himself from his ball and running flat chat into the bush....

Now tell me how you think a pair of gaiters will help with this bugger?

Well, I used to cull alot of native and feral animals all across the lucky country, and as such have had many scraps with seemingly docile native animals whilst out bush. Possums, Boomers, Buffalo, and Large Lizards.
To cut a long story short, I was out shooting camel with my BAR from a vehicle. When I got out of the shooting rig to inspect a freshly dispatched bull, This bloody big perentie popped out of no where and latched onto my ankle with a vice like grip and tenacity akin to that of a bulldog. I couldn't get the bugger off!!! This was a large specimen too, at least 2 metres in length........and I was kicking and yelling at this bloody lizard, shaking my leg around like a can-can dancer with concussion, much to the amusement of my fellow shooters........As much as I tried to get the bastard off, it just wouldn't give!!! It seemed to like the taste of Tasmanian. I had a few options, most of them not too good for the lizard. So I got out a pack of matches and lit one up and held it to his tail. The sonuvabitch did the barry and left me with a nice little bite around the ankle, just above the boot.
So I liberally applied some metho, and Took the nearest route to a doctor to get it looked at. Needed a few butterfly clips, but other than that.....
and That's the story of the aggro bastard perentie.

Ah, if I had a pound for every time I heard a story that started like that.....:)

Hello Taco,
thanks for your help.
They should be for both this, year in first case for the snow and also for keeping out the dirt etc...
I think the pair which was showed on top would be work great. They looks similar to my present ones.
Thanks again to all.
