Interesting documentary I found on the failed bomb plot to kill Hitler. They retrace and recreate the event, including using several likely scenarios that could have resulted in Hitler's death.

Perhaps with Allied support the attempt on Hitler's Death and/or the assorted coup could have worked. If this had worked, well, WWII in Europe would have costed only about half as many victims and Germany could have stayed at least a souvereign nation (subject to a harsh peace treaty but souvereign) instead of being occupied, parted and left in a ill defined state of half-souvereignity for decades. However, there was no interest in Hitler's death at the time, neither from the American nor from the Soviet side, and hence no support for an attempt to kill him.

There were countless attempts ... but something went wrong every time. He left a location too early, a bomb didnt explode on his airplane because it froze. One may think he had an angel watching over him :)

Kinda like the other guy, the one downstairs, or maybe that BS about the Spear of Longinus is real. p-)
