So if I'm, seeing this right: It's releasable. and the core vest offers ur typical soft armor coverage. Then all of the black sections including the main front and back offer actual hard-plate storage for added protection?woot Well done! Anybody know if they're available for purchase yet?

Missing a picture of the vest with the MOLLE panel unrolled on the front?

Looks nice. What's the ballistics protection of this vest compared to the IBA?
It accepts SAPI plates and that's all i know. sorry..

I bet the first sold will be to airsofters.

Something just doesn't look right about it. I'm not seeing the small multicam tags on it, and the quality of the material and build doesn't look like the older version chassis. I'm not convinced that is a real Crye product.

Well, I honestly doubt if anyone would bother putting the CP registred logo onto molded inner panels just to make a ripoff, and THEN forgetting the tiny tags on the fabric. The stuff looks genuine, and the concept is a logical development of the previous shell. Guys at CP are learning - this thing looks much more reasonable than te previous version.

I have seen photos of this rig from the most recent SHOTSHOW. They were taken at the CP exhibit, so yes, these are photos of the Gen 2 Armor Chassis. CP does not sell ballistic armored products to anyone other than LEO's, and Military, so the civilian consumer is out of luck. It looks like a solid design, and definitely an improvement on the Gen 1 rig.

Considering that CP won't sell their current armour chassis to airsofters, I highly doubt that the first sales of this one will be to them.

That vest seems to be REALLY high speed. but the soft armor coverage(if any) does not seem to be the best.

It is. The entire inner shell is integrated soft armor with hard armor carrier on the front and back.

hmm, seems like they ditched their own design of the plates and went with the conventional sapi plates

From my understanding the carrier accepts both SAPI plates and Crye's own plates. Or it might be that you specify the plates you will be using when ordering. Something along those lines.

A lot of us had fun here, she looks beautiful, I just wish they made the puppy in ACU...However the Army seems to be getting better, looking at six different plate carriers right now which is good. So we'll get an upgrade in the next couple of years I presume...maybe sooner if all works out.

Body Armor? I thought this had to do with a Tank Chassis.

Highly expensive piece of kit.
The way in which it is manufactured is obviously not cheap though as you can tell from the interior panels.
Well thought out design as always from Crye though and it will lead to less expensive carriers and vests later on that incorporate some of its attributes.

I think not having soft armour behind the plates, thereby dropping weight and leaving a gap for air to circulate is a brilliant idea. I hope that'll be developed on future designs for the army.

makes sense, zombies can't use guns (except the ones in Land of the Dead); no need for body armor

Its called stand alone plates. The only thing different is the chassis so the plate is not directly against your body.

I think 5.11 makes SAPI-shaped, adhesive backed padding that can be used in conjunction with stand alones. So you don't have the plates directly against your body, hopefully dissipating alot of the kinetic force imparted on the plate by an incoming round, thereby reducing that nasty BFT to your body.
Kinda like the soft-packs that can be used with soft armor.

If you end up coming along another one I might ask what you'd be willing to sell it/give it for...I do like Crye's stuff a lot.
