(AP) – Once again, Hillary Clinton leads in a poll. This time, she's the top choice when people are asked which major 2008 presidential candidate would make the scariest Halloween costume.

Thirty-seven percent in an Associated Press-Ipsos survey this month chose the New York senator, the front-runner among Democratic presidential contenders. Fourteen percent selected former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who leads Republicans in national polls.

No other candidate exceeded 6 percent.

Clinton was the choice of four in 10 men and one-third of women. While a predictable two-thirds of Republicans picked her, she also was the choice of 18 percent of Democrats. Among members of her own party, that made her second only to Giuliani as the scariest costume.

About one-third of independents, nearly half of whites and just over half of conservatives and white evangelicals selected her.

Giuliani was the choice of 17 percent of men and 12 percent of women. About one-fifth of minorities and city residents and one-quarter of Democrats also picked him.

While many conservatives have doubts about Giuliani's candidacy because of his moderate views on abortion and other social issues, only 6 percent of that group said they thought he would make the scariest costume. That is about the same number who chose Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois.

Giuliani was also picked by 10 percent of white evangelicals, another largely conservative group that has had doubts about his candidacy.

The poll involved telephone interviews with 1,013 adults conducted from Oct. 16-18. It has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

I'm not surprised. She's making good use of her husbands campaign strategy and team. However, she's very calculating in terms of her media outreach and not allowing press conferences during her campaign.

I guess in the world of youtube, blogs and instant e-mail, no canidates will take a chance in making candid opinions or remarks.

It's too bad because the public will never get an opportunity to get to know the canidates.

As for the GOP canidates, they will always be at a disadvantage given the changing voter demographics, and in the wake of an unpopular GOP presidency and policies.

Hopefully after the primaries, canidates will come out of thier shell and start courting the independant voters with more rational moderate proposals.

(AP) -- Hillary Rodham Clinton has a frightening lead in a new poll.
She's the top choice when people are asked which major 2008 presidential candidate would make the scariest Halloween costume.
In the AP-Ipsos poll, 37 percent of those surveyed chose Clinton, the Democratic front-runner. Fourteen percent selected former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who leads the GOP in national polls.
A predictable two-thirds of Republicans who were surveyed picked Clinton. Among Democrats polled, 18 percent chose the New York senator, making her the runnerup behind Giuliani.

I thought we were voting for the best Halloween mask...Well, anyway, I like the comment about how she can at least speak "English" unlike Bush...Yep...our President has a speech impediment, all right. For a guy who graduated from a prestigious university with honors, you have to really wonder what his graduate thesis must have sounded like or what it was on...perhaps, "My Little Choo-choo" was the title. Truly, the guy is a speech dumb-ass. I think any US citizen over thirty who graduated from university should at least have some command of the national language. I still crack up over "I'm the decider..." Jeezus! That kind of childish linguistic flub is the sign of nothing but a very lazy mind filled with hollow gaps. I imagine sometimes Bush must have nothing going on in that skull but a dial tone. I am actually surprised he doesn’t drool.

A friend of mine is in full support of Hillary Clinton and is as close as i can get to those people (everyone else i know is either for Obama, Paul, Giuliani, or are completely apathetic). Anyways, we got in a little debate last week over why she thinks Clinton would make a good president, and all of her points fell into the categories of eithe "cuz she's a woman" or "everything was absolutely perfect under the Clinton Administration". For instance, here's how the debate went:

Me: "What about <insert policy that Hillary wants to support that is of a questionable and polarizing nature>?"

Her: "So? <insert nostalgia-driven anecdote about how awesome and devoid of problem the 90's were>."

Me: "...you didn't answer my question."

Her: "I'll answer the question when you explain to me why <insert tirade about Bush and/or Republicans that has nothing to do with the question i brought up>"

Me: :cantbeli:

Well I thought I was pretty direct in my answer. Her very well laid out record of opinion over the years proves to me that she is another socialist entitlement shill pandering bread and circuses to the masses for votes. If she manages to carry through with her promises we’re screwed and if she simply sits on her ass in the white house doing nothing or anything in between were screwed.

One thing she will not do is the right thing by making sweeping reforms to tear down this bloated Frankenstein monster of a federal tick embedded in everyone’s wallet, injecting the nation with the creeping life draining Lyme disease of corruption wrapped in the pretty lie of socialism.

Anything else from her will be either slow to quick enslavement of the productive classes with the resultant demise of the economy. Unless of course she lucks out like her husband and some new technology comes along bringing boom time success so good she can’t kill the cow for trying. I doubt it.

Then again I hear the Polywell, Focus Fusion, quantum computing and the ultra capacitor show promise. Maybe she’ll dodge the bullet? I’d rather not take the chance…

Hell, I've not even touched the horror that would be her Foreign affairs. And people think Bush is bad. I can’t wait to hear the repeat of some Joint Chief visiting her to have staffers jeer and call him baby killer under their breath again. 9/11 will pale in comparison…
