Seriously. I'm having trouble explaining this, but if someone else has a theory, I'm all ears.

It's currently 8pm sunday night. I have not slept since I woke up saturday morning, and I don't feel tired.

I wasn't at any parties, drinking random drinks or anything. I spent saturday night at a coffee shop studying until 11pm. Now, over the course of the evening, I probably had four cups of black tea. And I don't have a big caffiene tolerance. But when caffiene gives me insomnia, I finally fall asleep at like 4am and I feel sluggish the next day. That's not what happened here. I did not sleep one wink last night, and at 8am when I quit trying, I still felt wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. I've been feeling surprisingly normal all day, even perhaps a bit more energetic than normal. But I don't feel high or anything, just...not tired.

Anybody have a clue? Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

You probably just been drinking toio much coffee latelyt and not having enough exercise.
Try running it off or something. And stop drinking caffeine.

I actually get a lot of exercise (for a civilian at least--obviously I'm way out of shape compared to a soldier), and I've gotten more than normal this past week--not less.

Though I have also gotten a lot more sleep than I've used to--since final exams ended two weeks ago, I've been sleeping 8-9 hours most nights instead of 5. But I've "caught up on sleep" at the start of most summers, and it never resulted in 36 hours of bright-eyed wakefulness like this before.

As for the caffiene--Those four cups of tea saturday evening/night are the only caffiene I've had in five days. Not a substantial amount before saturday night, and not a drop afterward. The only things I've drank in the past 22 hours are water and orange juice.

Like I said, I'm befuddled.

What's your sleeping schedule been like the past few weeks? Have your sleep habits been regular? I know what it's like. I'm in design school right now (and I work), so I have a pretty intense schedule. Last Tuesday, I pulled an all-nighter and my sleep patterns are completely screwed up. I felt fine--I wasn't tired or even a little bit sleepy. I was fine for about 2 days, then I hit a brick wall on Friday--totally sluggish and hazy-brained. Though, sometimes, I find, you just get on a bender. I can go for 2 days without sleep and feel fine. When you're in school, weird things happen to your body. Try cutting out caffeine, drinking LOTS of water, and excercising (even if it's just walking around the block a few times). Also, your diet can influence how you sleep.

Maybe your body is not yet used to getting more sleep and is compensating by staying awake. Weird things...

Oh hell no. Alcohol and caffiene are all I ever have, and those in moderation. I experimented with pot a couple times when I was younger, but swore it off when I saw how dumb it made some of my friends (perma-stoned). I've never touched harder stuff and never intend to.

For a while I was concerned that someone had slipped some meth or coke into my food/drink, though. That'd REALLY piss me off if someone did that. Though now after talking with folks, I'm hoping that it's just that I somehow screwed up my internal clock worse than normal...

See, I sometimes get insomnia (not for days at a time, though) and that's how I normally feel when I get it. But I've been awake for closing in on 40 hours now and I still feel chipper ;)

I suggest you see a "real" doctor.
