Mikkelin käräjäoikeus on tuominnut 40-vuotiaan miehen 5,5 vuodeksi vankeuteen 42 tytön seksuaalisesta hyväksikäytöstä.

Korvauksia tuli vajaat 80 000 e.

Syyttäjä vaati Helsingin yliopistossa asiantuntijana työskennelleelle Marko Voitto Juhani Tenkaselle vähintään kuuden vuoden vankeusrangaistusta.

Mies jatkoi toimintaansa vuosien ajan viime vuoden syksyyn. Hän jäi kiinni, kun 11-vuotiaan tuusulalaistytön vanhemmat tekivät rikosilmoituksen. Siitä lähtien hän on ollut vangittuna.

Oikeutta käytiin suljettujen ovien takana, mutta ennen oikeudenkäyntiä mies oli pääosin myöntänyt teot.

Uhrit olivat 8-16-vuotiaita tyttöjä. Heitä on asianomistajina peräti 42.

Syytteet koskivat tyttöihin kohdistuneita seksuaalisia hyväksikäyttöjä ja hyväksikäytön yrityksiä sekä lapsi****on hallussapitoa ja levittämistä.

Miehen tietokoneilta ja digiboksilta takavarikoitiin 118 982 kuvatiedostoa ja -tallennetta, joita on syytä epäillä lapsi****oksi.

Mies oli myös valmistanut itse kuvatallenteita keskusteluista, joita hän oli käynyt suomalaistyttöjen kanssa internetissä nettikameran avulla. Näitä tallenteita löytyi 135 kappaletta.

40-vuotias etsi tyttöjä internetin keskustelupalstoilla ja Messenger-keskusteluverkosta. Usein mukana oli kuvayhteys, kun keskusteluja käytiin nettikameran avulla.

Syyttäjän mukaan mies teki sopimattomia ehdotuksia, puhui seksistä ja lähetti seksikuvia. Osan kanssa yhteydenpito jatkui puhelimitse tai tekstiviestein.

40-vuotias onnistui järjestämään monien tyttöjen kanssa myös tapaamisia. Hän tapasi syyttäjän mukaan 12 tyttöä, joista ainakin kuuden kanssa hän oli sukupuoliyhteydessä tai muussa seksuaalisessa kanssakäymisessä.

Yhteen tyttöön mies oli tutustunut internetin sijaan rockfestivaaleilla Juvalla.

Well, according to the story I got the impression that he had physical contact "only" with six girls so it's not like he raped 42 girls but shocking story still. Of course it's difficult to know the full story but I don't know what could possibly justify having *** with six underaged girls and harrasing others. Then it is a question of definition.

But someone who has abused 42 children is beyond all doubt a repeat offender, and every judge here would have been forced by law to characterize him as a danger to the public solely due to the number of abuses. Minimum sentence for serious child abuse is ten years of inprisonment, and as a danger to the public he would have get at least ten years to life (=25 years) with subsequent preventive detention. Preventive detention shall be a possibility for therapy and is to be revised every two years, but since pedophilia is not curable, he would have been locked up for a pretty long time.
In fact more than the half of all prisoners who have been serving more than 25 years here are child abusers.

My suggestion would be castration and a big fat "CA" tattoo onto the forehead.

I don't know how Finland works but I'd imagine he'd point to the legislature that made the law that spelled out this sentence for first time offenders of that particualr law. Just a guess though.

One of the main reasons why judges don't give harder sentences is the fact that there aren't enough prisons and the one's we have are basically full. And the fact that rapists and pedophiles are in the lowest caste in prison hierarchy and therefore need extra protection (= expensive, the Prison Service is underfunded) in order to survive through their prison sentence in one piece makes giving lighter sentences even more favorable from the justice system's point of view.

I genuinely cannot understand how the legal system justifies such leniency against people committing what is commonly agreed to be one of the vilest of crimes (my ranking being 1. murder, 2. child rape, 3. rape).

Only gang rapists have received such sentences. Some rapists have been let off with only 2-3 year terms. A lot depends on other factors such as violence, theft, deprivation of liberty and such.

It also didn't help matters that until recently the victims could be challenged, past ****** history, clothes they were wearing wore all brought up in the defense.
