I recently picked up a Russian Winter camo jacket and trousers. I think it is from 1991 but just a guess. Anyone know what camo pattern it is and what type unit used it?

That looks like the old TTsKo camouflage (AKA: Soviet Brown Woodland). I'm pretty sure it was for the Naval Infantry back during the late days of the Soviet Union and early days of the Russian Federation.

I have one in a different pattern, the warmest jacket you will ever wear
