I have decided to instigate a new MP.Net award to compliment the Dumbarse of the week given by Ngati.
This award, called MP.NET Situational Awareness Knob of The Week will be awarded to the member who has shown the least situational awareness during the week, and will normally be awarded on Sundays, or as soon after as possible.
Nominees will have shown gross lack of situational awareness during the week concerned, however the post for which they are nominated should not have been severe enough to have got the nominee suspended/banned, but may have received infractions.
Nominations will be accepted at any point during the week by PM. The following conditions must be met:
The nominee must still be active (i.e. not suspended/banned at the time of the nomination).
The nomination must be notified to me by PM headed SAKOTW with date. There will be no multiple awards in any week, but the same member may win successive week's awards. There will be an overall SAK award for the year.
The inaugural award goes to The Starfox Kid for this awesome display of lack of situational awareness, which is pretty incredible considering that he has just told me how much he has matured during his recently ended three month MP.Net vacation

haha....I do my best work after a few drinks.
Congrats starfox kid.
I'm taking out my hate of Joes here at mp.net, because I can't say anything mean at work.
I am not allowed to use any harsh language, I can only refer to them as "soldier", "trooper" "warrior" or their rank.
"High-speed, hero, sport, tiger, tough guy, suzy, cupcake, sweetheart, killer, knucklehead, numbnuts, mother****er, and asshole" are all disallowed because they might damage the soldiers fragile psyche.

There's so much good material out there, and I'm not authorized to use any of it.....oh well.

Thank you Beowulf, without you, I wouldn't have an awesome title as I currently have.

Don't flatter yourself, you arrogant immature waste of space, you earned your new title all on your own and it's nothing to be proud of, believe me.

No. You will always be the Inaugural winner of this new award.
I can think of plenty appropriate user titles for you, none of them complimentary.
Face facts Anthony, at best you are only tolerated here, and the way you are currently conducting yourself, I predict a very short future for you. If you want to be perma banned, just carry on the way you are. You've only been back five days, are you going to last the week?

I truly love these threads and how seriously they are taken...
Here's an idea, instead of awards for members who flame or who are completely out of touch, how about awarding members who actually contribute good material and threads?
Maybe give everyone else something to "live" up to...

Maybe give everyone else something to "live" up to... What fun would that be???? Honestly....would you rather hear a complete and accurate rendition of the Boer War or Anthony rave on about his f**king SgtMaj PTing his ass into nonexistence? Think McFly, THINK!

Most folks, from what I've seen, think things like this and the DAOTW are pretty bloody hilarious.
I have yet to see anywhere on this, our intarnets, of a case where ignoring complete morons causes them to go away. On the contrary, in a medium where there is no fear of real-world consequences, ignoring retards just engourages them to greater feats of stupidity and in so doing, attracts even more idiots.
These awards serve their purpose. They're a corrective measure for the idiots given the award, they're a deterrent for other knobs who would otherwise engage in similar behaviours, and they mark said knobs for further punitive measures if they continue in that manner.
That said, a "good poster" award would be kinda cool.

there is a little bit of both if you think about it, good members get invitied to the invite only section after showing that they can be valuable members to the board
on the other foot guys/girls who show their asses through out their time here get these other awards.
hey at least he's not taking it like a whiny little bitch..............

We could just ban them but what fun would that be. It's never fun till someone loses an eye.
Buckeye hit it dead on. There are no real world consequences to being an asshat on the internet. Personally, when I was a kid I would have been awed that some of these BTDTs even bothered to speak to me. But here we have 15 year olds telling combat vets they're incorrect because the nomenclature is different in Rainbow Six on PS2. It's simply mind boggling.

Because so many prime candidates are slipping through the net because of being on suspension, I've decided to remove Rule 1 above with effect from this week's award, i.e. SAKOTW 10-16 Dec 2007.
Nominations to me as before.
