I should be wearing them. My left eye is pretty bad but I'm too vain to be wearing glasses. Stupid, I know...

I have a pair, but don't wear them much anymore. I used to wear them for reading the black(or white)board at school. But since I don't go there anymore, they just collect dust.

I have astigmatism so no contact lenses I heard of(lense must be rotated to proper angle)... I'm thinking about laser surgery but I don't know if this is worth play...You know I feel good with glasses, bugs, particles doesn't fall into my eyes, only problem is foging, but after lasser there is big chance something will **** up or improvment will not free me from using glasses, and eye is much weaker after that from what i know...

I heard that it isn't that great!
They can damage your eyes very badly.
Most Laser Doctors don't know a **** how to use their equipment.

Dunno where are you but same here. I'n my city is quite good clinic specialised in that kind of surgerys many kinds of laser methods, mechanical also, but risk exists and is quite big... also profesionalism of docs havent much to do about most of that risk.

I wear contacts most of the time, occasionally I go back to glasses.
The trouble with laser eye surgery is that if you have it and your vision goes back to normal, then you carry doing lots of reading, computing or whatever, your eyes will start to get worse again, and there's only so much cornea they can chop off.
My Dad has a book (ironically :P ) describing exercises and the like that can help improve your eyesight. I just can't remember the name of the method.

Contacts are awesome. Except, of course, when you forget to pack them and just have the solution for them. :bash:
I've been stuck with my glasses for almost two weeks because I was stupid and didn't check to be sure I had my contacts.

No, I don't wear glasses. But maybe I should, since they might make me look more intelligent...
Yeah, right!

I've worn glasses for most of my life. I really like my latest pair--it's a rimless design (the arms and nose bolt directly into the lens), with small, oval lenses and titanium arms and nose-bridge. I like how they look, and they're extremely light-weight, but they don't provide correction for my peripheral vision, and they're too delicate for anything sports-related, but I have prescription Oakley sunglasses for that (look just like normal Oakleys).

I wear contact lenses. I'm absolutely blind without some sort of corrective lense too. :| Maybe I'll go for laser surgery when I get older, depending on whether the military accepts it at the time.

I've had glasses and contacts since High School, but it never stopped me from doing infantry work, or similar arduous tasks.
As an example, I could outshoot bucket-loads of other guys in my unit during our annual range qualification, and most of them had 20/20 vision. (Mind you, I was on the local shooting team :))
My eyesight is borderline on Lasik-style treatment not being worth it, as I am only -1.5/-2.0 (hardly worth it; My Missus is -7.5!) so it might be an option once I am a bit older.
Incidentally, I discovered that the Champion Shot of the Army (Queens Medal winner) also wore glasses, so that was an eye-opener (get it?) for me as a "four eyes." :D
Contact lenses and military stuff do not go hand-in-hand, I have found. I was a volunteer in a trial program (Medical experiment subject???!) for some new contact lens products sponsored by Johnson & Johnson/the School of Opthamology in UNSW(Sydney) and they were VERY interested in getting feedback from me using their trial product in extreme, field conditions. (I must have been the test subject from Heaven, in their opinion.) Aside from the obvious hygiene issues, it didn't take long for me to revert to spectacles once the first dust storm swept over our convoy en route to Darwin, I should point out. p-) Heli ops are also difficult, BTW. Rotor wash is not your friend, yeah....
I wouldn't miss giving specs & cleaning solutions the flick permanently, though.
