Did Detroit Tank Plant make the M68 105mm tank gun or did another company do it? Regards.

Feel free to clarify if needed.

IIRC it's a derivation of the Britisch L7, but i could be wrong.

Not that wiki is always right but it says the M68 is a US made version of the L7 with a different breach. Doesn't say who in the US made it. Google wasn't much help.

Interesting that we went to the trouble to make our own L7 but buy the M256 directly from Rheinmetal.

Yeah hank, I was just on wiki and could only find Royal Ordnance. I wonder if Rock Island Arsenal made it?

Hard to say. Wiki said the same gun is on the new Stryker MGS but whoever is making it now wouldn't necessarily be the same one who was making it then. Google was no help but my fu is weak. Someone will know.
