Send him some more ammo to kick arse with.. Anyways, candy, some reading material (not michael moore of course, unless they need toilet paper), maybe some cool dvds, letters of support.. All I can think of now.

send secret squirrel - if that doesn't make sense then fahget abouuut it.

Don't send stamps! That would be retarded.

Smokes or Dip or CHew - Try his favorite tobacco product.

CIGARS - A couple of packs/boxes of decent Cigars is the BEST. Even if he doesn't smoke - someone will - and they will have **** to trade. Not that expensive just go to a smoke shop - say I need to send some to a dude in Iraq, somthing cheap but almost ok. You may be surprised.

DISPOSABLE CAMERAs he can send them home for free too - FYI they fit perfect in an empty 9mm box.

cheap DVD's or used DVD's. - Burn a mixture of music of all kinds and loads loads loads of songs.

If you decide to send food stuffs make sure it somewhat protected - like Torengos or Pringles or that crap, but that need depends on if he has an exchange near buy.

AA Batteries are often good.

Find out what he likes that they may not have.

Talk to his gf/parents/sibling etc and find out if there are some special things around the house that he feels particularly attached to and forgot to bring with him. Also, I heard somewhere liquid laundry detergent is quite a commodity. Tobacco products are always cool.

ask around - sharing a smoke on a couple of cigars after a long couple of ops, having eaten an ok meal, leaning back on a crappy plastic lawn chair, listening to distant (distant good - close bad) gunfire on a nice cool night, thanking god your buds are there with you, maybe listening to a little Leary or you can smell nice - think about it

I'd set him up with these Babes on his return. That'll keep his spirits up (no pun intended).

About US: 'Operation Take One For The Country' (abbreviated OTOFTC) is a movement of like-minded women (women predominantly as of right now) who have covertly organized into groups to frequent eating and drinking establishments near armed service bases where troops are preparing to ship out overseas, and take one for the country, so to speak. We are a virtual organization and have no official headquarters or charter. We believe US service men and women deserve our support and we are willing to make caring choices about making them happy.

Thats awesome.

I switched a deck of "artisticlly composed photo" cards into a regular Hoyle pack for a buddy of mine.

This always works:

Take a black magic marker to Hooters.
Buy whatever Hooters Girls Calendar they're selling now
Tell the waitresses your sending it to your buddy in Iraq
Ask them all to sign every month with sexy messages to him.

Not only is this fun for him but it's fun for you -believe me.

And he'll look at it every day to keep track of his time.

Genius man. Pure genius. I like the win-win aspect of this plan.

No booze or ****? That sucks. I remember listerine was very valued- bad breath sucks. Crumpled up magazine pages make for very good packing insulation as well.

No booze or **** is SOP for deployment to Muslim nations. "mens magazines" like FHM, Ralph, Maxim etc are good, as is particular chocolates and 'munchies' to your part of the world.

When I've been sent stuff, the AA or AAA batteries were great - as were the mens mags - Aussie chocolate bars ( Hallal of course ;) ) and photos from home of friends, family, your car etc
