The MP.Net Situation Awareness Knob of the week 9-15 December 2007 goes to Halcon Cruz (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showpost.php?p=2919912&postcount=178) for this little gem.

Paul Nykel (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/member.php?u=45262) comes a close second with his ultra-poseur topic.

I understand the morale boosting effect of propaganda during wartime, but it's 2007 and you've been wearing that tinfoil hat for 25 years now! http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z273/reb2007/smilies/tinfoil.gif

Well. Let us put what he wrote in the right context. Amongst else, he replied to major insults and disrespect to former leaders of his country like this one:

I lost friends because of the naked agression of the megalomaniacal idiots who mis-governed your country!

A lot of people died in Argentina during those dark years. But the regime and military could never have assumed or even hold power that long had they not had supporters amongst the people. For many Argentinians (just as people support Pinochet in Chile) the military saved the country and put it on the right path. Inflation was skyrocketing and GDP contracted under the corrupt Peron government. Add the Peronist intra-party struggles, and growing acts of terrorism by insurgents such as the ERP and paramilitary movements, and its easy to understand why. It was also the reason to why CIA actively supported the regime. I am not supporting the bad things the Argentinian regime did, but thinking that was a good choice just shows that you are either uninformed about the Argentinian history being or very biased, or more likely both.

By the way, will I receive an infraction for not approving? Or get suspended for a few weeks, or be permanently banned? Or maybe you will realize that this is the OT and Humor section and just have a good laugh?

If you last the week, you might have a shot at the next award.

Ah I wasn't complaining really, I don't take internet that seriously :)

Just thought it was funny since I didn't see it coming. Its a learning process I guess, adapting to a new culture when coming from one where you are allowed to discuss and voice your opinion. If I don't get banned before it happen I will soon be just like you guys congratulating the excellent choises the mods make.
