Is Magpul in "Hibernation Mode" with the PDR?

Ever since the Mapgul PDR was featured a while back on defense review, there hasn't seemed to be much information released since then. Has anyone heard anything on any overview videos/pdf's or participation at the 2008 SHOT Show?

I just was checking to see if anyone has gotten any news that were maybe hard to come by.

I will be personally interested to see the progress it has in it's next article/overview. I wonder how the military will look at it, if they do at all.

I was ordering some stuff and asked them...They are not going to introduce a shoddy product. They are going to do it right. There are some changes in effect since last year. For the better, and also to comply with some manufacturing regulations...hmmm. Probably to ensure we don't file the sear down.

Anyway I am still excited about the PMAG.

As far as the 6mm, it is pretty amazing as the ability to deliver 5.56 performance out of a small package. as far as crap, I am just asking why do you consider it as crap. I just ask you to clarify the statement. did not think that would get your all excited..!!

I never liked any PDW, never like the concept, P90, MP7 nor this KAC or Magpul offerings.

I do agree a LMT 10.5 is better then anything else. And that is what I have been stating for a long time. PDW is a solution to nothing.

But the 6mm is not all F up, for that small of a package, it is a pretty amazing performer. too bad in your case, it is made by KAC, and you and I know how much some of you hate KAC.....

PDW is a solution to nothing.


I don't know if that is really true, but a PDW is a tool that is designed for a very specific task. The problem comes when you try to compare it to to other weapon categories, or worse, to force its use in a role for which it was never intended. The true problem for the PDW is that most of the time, other weapon types will do the job as well or better, and have more knockdown, longer effective range etc. and be nearly as portable. But in certain specific situations, a PDW may be the best, just as there is a niche where the submachine gun performs well.

Personally I hope the Masada is receiving the full weight of their attentions, as I doubt the PDR will be sold to civilians. As a civilian, I look forward to the Masada .

It'll be interesting to see what the Masada is capable of with a 20" heavy barrel, should make my life a little easier I hope.

And, please, don't call me a teenager who hasn't experienced "wet dreams"...It is insulting because I am not some 12 or 13 year old. I am 18 years old, and am treated with respect by many people I know. All I am asking for is oppinions and insight on the weapon...not Interpersonal conflict and pissed-off disagreements. I am just asking for input on the weapon.

No I have not, but I'd rather give my money to Magpul. Unless the SSR threatens to serously outperform the Masada, I'd rather not give my money to FN if it can at all be avoided.

Winchester's NewHaven plant, which was the oldest continually run firearms plant in America made the Winchester 94. Its a very simple, nice and narrow lever action rifle that folks like me who live abit in the country really loved. Just a really good farmer's rifle.

Well FN bought Winchester and told everyone "Oh dont worry we wont touch current winchester product lines" and then like 2 months later were like "LOL Newhaven sux, we're closing the plant. Also, since thats the only factory producing the Model 94 we're not gonna make them anymore." and everyone was like "HAX!" and a whole bunch of people were desperately trying to buy the factory which had the machinery, including the city of newhaven where like 200 of their people worked.

FN took torches to all the dies, destroyed all the machinery and now is talking about demolishing the plant entirely because nobody will buy it.

Your issue with with my simple question that does not recquire conflict is just a way to express anger, or something. The only posts I have seen you make on my threads (among other people's) express pissed-off comments.

I mean, it only seems like you are posting on these sites to get pissed off at people who don't post as much threads.
