~400 cars burned but the night was without a "Notable incident"? Has this become the norm in some parts of France?

I wonder if anyone knows what steps Sarkozy has done with immigration. I recall that being a big deal in him coming to power.

Getting rich fast scheme = buy a lot of junk cars park them in black and arab neighborhoods in Paris on New Years. Insure them against fire. Come January 1st = you're a rich man.

Car torching existed in France long before the 2005 riots. Especially at New Years Eve.

The big deal is what happens in/with the Banlieues. If it was in Sarkozy's power to stop immigration completely it would have changed nothing there. The problems are decades old and 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation immigrants live there. Remember France being a colonial power.
If you want answers ask a french guy here, but it is a bit more complicated than "uh... stopping immigration".

We don't have problem with first generation of immigrants (who want works) but with their sons who want easy life but not hard work.

yes but who want to give them some work ? and have they the education for ?
no real policies to make these people out of these ghettos since 20 years
3 things needs to change : the banlieues (which must disappear), mentality of the employers ("oh my god !! arab people !!") and of course education of the youth
in one word : integration (IMO)
i hope that one day a politician will have the balls to do that (and i'm not a fan of Mr Sarko)

"Des théories sur tout, mais surtout des théories"
400 cars burnt, it is nothing (details p-)), see: They have JUST set fire to cars belonging to people like them (may be relatives) rofl
Let's open a thread about something more important.
