THis has been bothering me for some time, but here goes:
I love wearing white undershirts, but it seems that with most deodorants (besides spray ons) i get yellow spot in the armpits, and even clorox wont get it out.
Anyone else have this problem?

Those stains come from your apocrine glands, the underarm pheromone factories that spritz your pits with lipfuscin, a chemical that can turn clothing yellow and, in super-mortifying cases, bluish green. Short of do-it-yourself surgery to remove the glands (and by the way, watch for our big feature in next month’s issue), there’s little you can do to stop this splotching, which tends to get worse when you’re stressed but eventually decreases with age. “Changing your diet won’t help,” says NYU Downtown Hospital dermatologist Barry Goldman. “Apocrine glands are larger than sweat glands, so you can’t block them with deodorants or antiperspirants.” Your options are few, and none of ’em are pretty: You can adopt a Charlie Brownesque wardrobe composed entirely of yellow shirts, scrub your clothes with Spray ’n Wash or vinegar diluted in water, or simply wear your man-stains with brazen pride, knowing they’re chock-full of secretions that surely drive the ladies loopy with desire.

don't buy white. Darker colours are better. It's like buying a white car, the dirt shows more then on a darker colour car, my mum's grey Vauxhall Nova was quite good at not showing the dirt.

Thanks for the link, hot lips.
However I have a few doubts, whether its talking about the SAME exact phenomena. First off, vinegar didnt do ****, besides make my shirt smelly (until i washed it), second of all the problem disappeared when I switched to AXE (a spray on).
I read somewhere that they are caused by deodorants which contain Aluminum (most gel-deodorants) Aluminum bonds with the sil (or something to that cextent) and oxidizes wich makes it yellow. AXE and other spray ons dont have such an ingredient.

I used a spray once that turned the underarms of a black dress a rusty red. Guess it just depends on the fabric and the deoderant you use.
Just don't piss on your clothes...duh.

RA... got some Oxiclean (powder) and soak them... Seriously... that stuff is great. You might have to soak them for a long period of time. Try putting them in during the evening and letting them soak all night. Then wash normally.

Make the solution much stronger, and soak them longer. Make sure you're soaking in warm water. That will help too.

What the maxim link doesnt really explain is that its FAT/OIL...I had this oil stain on my shirt from cooking and it took about 20washes to get it out...I didnt wash it 20times in a row though.
