I'm looking into buying an AR15, The model is E.A. Does anyone know about E.A. because I have never heard of them?

I would also like advice about the Mosin Nagant.. are they junk and how do they shoot?

And any suggestions on an afordable ($200 - $800) bolt action rifle (mid sized ammo ex: 7.62)

Thanks

(Sorry, please move topic.. didnt see that topic was under photos when I posted it)

Anyway, here is an okay web site you could check out... Impact Guns (http://www.impactguns.com/store/caa.html)

Essential Arms, lower tier AR company. The rifles tend to be made with lower quality parts. If its just a receiver, then you should be OK, unfotunately not very much collectibility.

I think the 8mm mausers are the better deal but the nagants are not bad. Both are very reliable. Take a look at JG Sales (http://www.jgsales.com/index.php/rifles-shotguns/military-bolt-action-rifles/cPath/209_219) website .

If you are used to Mausers, 1903 Springfields, and even Enfields, you'll probably find the Mosin-Nagants to be kind of rough.

But, they're good rifles, and very accurate. Some of them have problems with extraction, and for that reason, I'd recommend either being able to try the rifle you might purchase before you buy it, or asking if the dealer has a return policy.

I've got two, and I like 'em.

I've heard great things about Savage rifles for bolt actions - good quality, reasonable prices, accurate, and available in a wide variety of calibers and configurations.

^^^ what they all say.

Do you reload?

7.62 is a big range of calibers, from little bittie to monster, like 300 Rem Ulta Mag.

I would like to own one, never shot one. In there states there wasa recall on them. I don't know what it was about.

In my experience and in most cases the lack of accuracy is not from the firearm. There are a lot of fine firearm. There are all kind of reasons a person buys a specific firearm.

You won't, there was only maybe 10 total imported into the US.. Unless you want to fork out big, I mean big bucks for them.

beside, they are POS !!

M24 are well over 4k for the gun...

SVD, you might be able to find some Chinese copy that are actually not too bad.

Remington 700 (M24). Are you referring to the long action sniper rifle in 7.62? If so, note that it has the long action to accommodate .338Lapua Magnum with obvious barrel change. Hence for a 7.62 x 51 its got a long bolt throw.

If you want a Russian SVD, expect to pay around 8-10k. However lately there has been alot of the Chinese SVDs in 7.62x51, and a few in the 7.62x54r (NDM-86) on gunbroker. They go from around 2k-4k.

The FAMAS you wont find, because they have all been sold, and most likely wont ever see the the hands of a new owner. They sold for around 2k IIRC when first imported and now are estimated to be (if sold) around 15k.

wow, was the FAMAS license sold or did they just stop making them ? most of these rifles are far from my price range but the Nugant, SKS, and the AR15 are dirt cheap compared to some of the other stuff. thanks for the help.

Go ahead and buy a Mosin-Nagant. They are inexpensive and OK.

For more check out the Parallax Bill forum on Mosin-Nagants.

Mosins run from great to meh at the range. Depends on the rifle.

Alot of folks get more fun out of shooting antique bolt-actions at the range than they do out of new Wunderguns anyway.

And there is a certain joy in reliably shooting the center out of your target with a $100 rifle and 40 year-old surplus ammo while the guy next to you jerks around trying to remodulate the XKR-157 doodleflitzit on his phased plasma rifle.
