We certainly got a lot of people from other countries in the forum...so to our foreign friends...what's your national independence day or something of that sort?

The closest we in Britain have a a National day,is St Georges Day. Though that`s not a Holiday.

We in Britain won`t get one,as Blair,our Prime Minister,believes there no such thing as a BRITISH person.
My family tree goes back to the Middle Ages on both sides,how come that`s NOT good enough to say l AM BRITISH,l don`t know.

Also the way the Political Correct Goverment we have works,they`d turn round & say "we`re being racists,wanting a British National Holiday".

So you guys in the US,you ancestors fought for it,so you all enjoy your 4th of July.
Maybe that`s what`s needed here in Great Britain,a rise to arms against the establishment. After all we have a lot of Sad buggers wanting to have there own Northern local Goverment Assembly. WHY???
After seeing that Local Goverment Assembly`s haven`t worked in Wales & Scotland (There still subsidised by the Goverment),so why more??

In Germany we have the 17 June : Rebellion in the GDR with millions of people (bloody terminated by the Soviets ). But that is not the real national holiday the real one is on 3 October the day of the German unity.

16 June is South Africa's big day... got no clue what it's about, though. Might be "Youth Day" to celebrate the Soweto uprising in 1976. Dunno, all our public holidays have changed over the last few years, with some added, some removed, and some just changed. I've given up trying to keep track.

On the topic, I hope all you US guys have a good 4 July, wherever you might be.
