I was looking around the net at pictures of transport planes when I came across the website for Mielec and one of the versions of the Skytruck had the following picture.

Does anyone know what this is? It is on the M28 Bryza aircraft. Maybe some of the Polish guys might know? ;)

MAD? ;)
* patrol/reconnaissance for search & rescue and oversea patrol missions.
As that would certainly support that theory. :)

That's an Ericsson side looking radar. Handy to find boats in trouble or fishing where they shouldn't.

Actually there are two versions of bryza: M28B for sea reconnesaince, with ARS400 radar under the fuselage (above) ...
...and M28E with two Ericsson side looking radars (pic posted by Lysander) for ecological monitoring.

Thanks for the explanation. I did not know that there were to versions. I was just aware of the version with the radar underneath.
Are there any pictures of the Bryza with the retractable landing gear and MAD sensor? I saw the pictures on the company webpage, however they are small and I can not find larger or newer pictures.
