Some kinda growth on the guys head, not caused by and injury just looks like it. Our medic was a PA and he had never seen any get that far. There, obviously, was nothing we could for the guy way out there!

Yes, we all had Viking helmets, it scared the ****e out of the enemy!!

Damn, beat me to it. I wonder if that martini-henry has been there since the British expedition? I can't think of any other way a martini-henry would have ended up there. Man, what a find. They probably ran out of ammunition for it a century ago...

On the pic with the viking helmet, what's with the Raiders patch?

He was a SUPER Raiders fan and they were in the Superbowl baby!! Lost of course!! Damnit

Yes, those weapons had been there since British times, there were dozens if not hundreds of them. when we ask about old weapons to buy they came out of the wood work. One old guy told us that they Afghani's ability to shoot well died when they introduced the AK. If the still shot the old falling blocks they would have hit a lot more of what they aimed at.

Nice pics.

Shrek, what is your general opinion on the Afghan people you have met there? As well, do you think they can be trusted as allies?

great pic shrek thx for sharing. i m a little familiar with the terrain in afghanitan and was in some place quite near that country in fact. So before u went into a valley what did u guys do shrek. would the local people told u it would be safe and bring u in? u know it would be a paradise if sb wanted to ambush u. I heard some dboys got ambushed somewhere.

Did they had ammo for that gun??? if yes how old it was???

BTW why you asked for old guns??? Do you collect them or what?

This european looking one... was he a deserter or just a russian "production" born in afghanistan.?

And one more... this guy with "injury", was it some kind of skin cancer or what? it was removed by your paramedic or it looked like this when you arrived?

No, we couldn't help the old man, it was too advanced.

No one invited us, we just went! Yes, we were prime for ambush and got ambushed quite often, much more than the media knew about. We had no reporters with us. If we got ambushed we just did the best we could to open up with the MK-19 and Ma deuce and kept our heads down until we thought we had their heads down, then we would either dismount and take it to them or drive out of the kill zone, set up a quick defence and call for the QRF if it was a large force. If it wasn't large we usually took care of it as best we could. They were "shoot and runner's", you know what I mean, cowards!!

Yes, they had ammo for those weapons and it was something to see, basically hand made, crimped together around lead slugs to fit the gun.

Shrek...are that guy's open sores the results of fly-borne Lechmiosis?

I've seen photos our guys brought back of kids with similiar, but smaller, open sores on their faces.

Those Viking Helmets rock!!!

I saw a photo of two of your teammates with HD ballcaps on and another with an Easyrider......PM me if you/they would be keen on swapping any HD caps or T-shirts for some Kiwi HD stuff.

They were "shoot and runner's", you know what I mean, cowards!!

yeh shrek, i know that kind of `tactic` . those cowards were generally poorly trained and eqiuped. they were in fact what i called gamblers. the only **** they could do was to hide somewhere and shot aimlessly and they just wished their bullets had been so wise to kill sb and then ran away as quickly as they could if they were repelled even by 2 rifles... GOD!

but in case if there had been some trained badguys with some snipers plus some tactics, it would have been much more dangerous ( i think, just a word...). good luck.
