While Constitution is the oldest fully commissioned vessel afloat, she is not the oldest commissioned. HMS Victory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Victory) holds the honor of being the oldest commissioned warship by three decades, however Victory is permanently drydocked (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dry_dock).

True enough the Victory is older by 30 years than the Consitution. However the Consitution has never been out of comission. Where as the Victory been taken out of comission.

HMS Victory was launched in 1765 at Chatham Dockyard and was commissioned in 1778. She continued in active service for the next 34 years which included her most famous moment-the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. In 1812 the Victory was retired from frontline duty and anchored in Portsmouth Harbour, on the south coast of England. For the next 110 years the Victory remained at her moorings in Portsmouth Harbour fulfilling a combination of practical and ceremonial roles. In 1922, amid fears for her continued survival, the Victory was moved into Portsmouth's Royal Naval Dockyard and placed in No2 Dry Dock. Work then began on restoring the Victory to her 'fighting' 1805 condition and continues today.

HMS Victory is the oldest naval warship still in commishion anywhere in the world. It was first laid down in 1759.

HMS Victory is still in commission as the flagship of the admiral for the time being acting as Second Sea Lord in his role as Commander in Chief of the Royal Navy's Home Command (CINCNAVHOME). She is the oldest commissioned warship in the world, although the USS Constitution, launched 30 years later, is the oldest commissioned warship still afloat. Victory attracts around 350,000 visitors per year in her role as a museum ship.

Sorry BD, but I must complain:

HMS Victory was launched in 1765. She is the oldest commissioned warship in the world and is still in commission today.
She is manned by officers and men of the Royal Navy and a corps of civil service guides. She is now the flagship of the
Second Sea Lord.

I guess I chose the AR-10 based on the forearm and the FH, haven't seen that config on the SR-25 (not saying you are wrong).

EDIT: Further research shows the SR-25 issue weapon with IDF, which makes it pretty sure to be SR-25 over AR-10. Oh well, I tried.

I will have something like recruitment probably in February(medical examinations, etc.) and then after I finish my school they(army) give me informations where I will go.

I don't know where I would like to serve. I'm wondering what option is better for me army or police service(prevention)
but when I will have chance to choose where I want to serve in army I will probably go to the 6th Airborne-Assault Brigade.

It's because the reciever is extruded aluminum instead of forged aluminum- so a forward bolt assist housing could not be included.

It's because the reciever is extruded aluminum instead of forged aluminum- so a forward bolt assist housing could not be included.
Thanks for the info. I'm still curious, what are you supposed to do then, when the bolt gets stacked on its way to chamber.

The inclusion or exclusion of the forward assist has been a topic of contention for a long time, and a discussion of that should be a separate thread; but there are different schools of thought on whether or not a forward assist is a good or bad thing.

If the weapon and/or ammo is so dirty that it will not chamber, do you really want to force it? Or, is that something you don't have time to worry about in the heat of battle, and you just need to try and get it firing?

I'll go with the second one.p-) Seriously, without the handle you would need a screwdriver or something in order to push it.

Thank you! ( Takes a humble bow ).
Canada are also using the Carl-Gustav i see....
We used the M/48 made of metall, the M/84 made of composite (about allmost half the weight) was only in storage for use in an event of real war.
Wich one does Canada use?

Here are the specs from the DND website. I left the military back in the late 80s, so I have not seen one used in a long long time.

Specifications:
Length: M2 113cm, M3 107cm
Weight: M2 14kg, M3 8.5kg
Crew: 2, gunner, loader
Sight: 3x Telescopic, 12 degree field of view
Entered Service: M2 1969, M3 1988

Ahhh, the memories...

Dean.
