Tyndall aircraft crashes [F-15 Eagle]

5/21/2004 - TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (AFPN) -- An F-15 Eagle crashed into the Gulf of Mexico at about noon May 21.

The plane, assigned to the 325th Fighter Wing here, was on a training mission.

Lt. Col. Patrick Marshall, 1st Fighter Squadron commander, piloted the aircraft and is reported in good condition.

A board of officers will investigate the accident.


Thank God he's okay.

I'm glad he made it too.



Its been an ugly week for military flying.


A couple days ago, it was 2 F-16s with one fatality, a day or two later, it was an F-16 (The pilot from Singapore died), and yesterday, it was the F-15.

The RSAF F-16C was stationed in Luke AFB, and it crashed during night flight training. Not sure about the other two F-16s though.

The other two were ANG aircraft.

Damn, 2 F-16s (one pilot killed) and 1 F-15 lost in a few days. Bad week for the USAF... :(
