You can go to tibet autonomous region freely. Do you have any friends or relatives in there? take a trip to visit them and know their life now.

Tibet was doing fine befor China invaded them . They dident need Chinas leaders to get involved . And you are right Tibet is back on track but I would like to see it as a free country .
Tibet was doing fine befor China ...
I don't think so. Tibet was a feudal custom of having slaves in before, the slaves had no any freedom and had a miserable life, many slave owner escaped to India in 1959.

Another more sinister aspect of this is not only blocking non-approved sites but also logging attempts to access anti-government web sites.
I wouldn't want the Chinese Gestapo to come knocking in the middle of the night coz I tried to go to http://mao-is-sux.com.
Now that's not to say the U.S.A. and other governments aren't them selves montoring the internet - I'm sure they are p-)

Im sure international pressure would have stopped this cycle Kundun was a very modern guy who would have bent to the wishes of the west if it ment Tibet would face up to an Armed conflict or "liberation" from the greatful Chinese. Good thing the Liberation Army brought and end to this horrid cycle of slaves giving them and the people of Tibet a chance instead of jamming clubs up nun's ******l openings, imposing laws preventing religious practices, and over all destroying a society with an outstanding record culturally and politically. :cantbeli:
No doubt things are better now but Im only sorry my country stood still all the while these past 50 some odd years.

Hm, that is nice. How are you there? BTW, what is your job and also attitudes to your Communist party? I am really interested to hear that, frankly.
LordHalbert, obviously all goverments have OSINT capabilities, that is important. Of course, without blocking access to websites.
Well, this article is not related to this topic but says also something more:
Czech Republic Backs Down On Radar Sale to China
By AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE, PRAGUE
The Czech Republic on May 20 withdrew authorization for a deal to sell Czech radar capable of detecting stealth aircraft to China.
Prime Minister Vladimir Spidla told CTK Czech news agency that it was not in his country’s interests to conclude the sale.
The decision was made May 19 in a closed-door ministerial session, and ministries were ordered to revoke the export license needed for the sale.
The company Omnipol was granted the export license in January by the ministry of industry and trade.
The move comes days after a press report here said the United States was ready to bid on the Vera radar system in order to keep it from falling into the hands of the Chinese.
The radar system is an updated version of the Tamar system, which was reportedly used by Serb forces to shoot down a U.S. F-117A stealth fighter in March 1999.
Czech media say Washington has repeatedly expressed its concern over the granting of a Czech export license for the Chinese deal, said to be worth about 1.5 billion korunas (47 million euros, $56 million).
The sale also was criticized by some Czech parties, in particular the Freedom Union, a member of the ruling coalition.
A government spokeswoman questioned by Agence France-Presse declined to comment on the matter on Thursday.
I work in a private trade company, main business is export beans(such as white beans, green beans, red kidney beans etc.) to southeastern Asia, UK, germany, Turkey etc. I have many west friends, know them in businss or in bars in beijing.
