Think this is Lithuanian desert pattern, used also by Iraqi counter terrorist unit. This is perhaps their adviser..:)

No. It's not Lithuanian camo.

It looks like that so-called "Thule" pattern - which was an arid/desert variation of US Woodland trialled in the '80's. Its been used by a few middle eastern armies - including Kuwait and Iraq IIRC.

There was a thread on that camo in here, I can't seem to find it at the moment.

Never seen this camo before, looks similar to British desert DPM with the added brown. Any other info/pics on this pattern? couldn't find anything using the search function

Isn't that this the same pattern?

It's identified by worldcamo.com as "US trials of 1981. Woodland camo in desert colors. U.S. Made and styled exactly like the issue M-65 Field Jackets" used in Abu Dhabi.

Yes, interesting that they wear a totally new pattern that does not seem to be a variant of any other existing pattern

That's the one I was thinking of - but as you can see, it's not the same one. The shapes look bigger on the ISOF pattern, and it appears to only have three colours, rather than four colours like this one.

^ Looking at the pattern contours, the Thule looks bit like arid-coloured ERDL, while the ISOF pattern seems to be classic woodland converted to desert colors.

Is that guy wearing tennis shoes...sure this is a US SF guy? The rest of the gear looks legit but the shoes threw me.

That mustache alone is pretty strong evidence that he is indeed SF.

There is a distinct lack of oakleys in that picture...

The Thule pattern was tested by the US government but never adopted. It was reputedly sold to/worn by Abu Dhabi, one of the UAE, but that is the only reference I have ever heard of it being used in the Middle East. I don't know where the rumour started that it was worn by Iraq or Kuwait, but I think it is extremely doubtful.

Not really. Somewhat similar, but our marines do not have light green in their uniforms. As I said before, I am pretty sure it is the Iraqi SF camo.

I'm kidding. The only thing you can tell about a guy with a mustache is that he isn't in the 75th Ranger Regiment. Though maybe with going back to regulations on grooming (as opposed to all high and tights, all the time) they'll creep in, but I seriously doubt it.
I've seen this camo before when I used to work at BAMC, an Iraqi general that was visiting was sporting it around back in 05/06. He was a real nice guy.
