:| He just won the "Palme d'Or" at Cannes Festival.

The closest competitor was ..."Schreck 2"!

This is clearly a political choice from the Jury (Quentin Tarantino was the current President)

Just the beginning of the controversy...

2 of the winners told the audience not to vote for Bush, another asked to free the Palestine. This was an engaged festival i'll say. But don't forget those actors came from dozen of countries...film festival, not business's for some, amazing for others, boring for none !

"Free Palestine"... that's one the most annoying, dumbass quotes of this generation. The Palestinians burn American flags and wouldn't hesitate to kill any Americans, including those peace sign waving, hair-cut needing beatnic hippies from San francisco that claim to be on the Palestinians' side. But those f*cking dumbass hippies don't recognize that...

I wasn't necessarily implying that he was, but there are Americans (especially in 'Frisco) that do yell that sh*t. ProtestWarrior.com has tons of clips about those wackos.

You are right mate  That's the tragedy of the free world that it allows to exist such people like them, who support terrorism, although they have no idea about it.

Actually a precision is needed, an israelo-french said that. But please don't ever say they support terrorism, they are against wars, and don't want any of the side to fight. Wanting peace don't always means supporting terrorism, they just think that these countries are going the wrong way, even when there are no other way.

What i can tell you is that in Europe, of those countries i know (France, Germany, Spain and Italy) patriotism is inside of people and isn't shown. I mean if you come yo Europe you wan't see flags elsewhere than on official buildings, we don't have many days you have with military shows. Different way of mind i'd say, different culture. Difference makes beauty !

I congratulate Micheal Moore on getting this award.

I read most of his books and even if not everything he tells us is true,
it is most troublesome to me, if only half of his accusations are true.

P.S. It´s just a pity, that he is a leftist and I would rate myself quite conservative in my country.

Do I dare asking a " woot " for the Belgian animated movie "Flatlife", made by Jonas Geirnaert? He won the price of the jury? p-) woot

I consider the US-bashing in the movie-industry a fashion-thing, it's "in", no matter how sad it is. They should all shut up and listen to Tom Hanks.

About that Moore guy, I went to watch "Bowling for Columbine" out of interest, I must say that movie was rather amusing then flaming, but if you read/watch his latest work...

Somehow I'm not surprised the French gave Michael Moore an award. They are both stupid.

The jury was international, not French. Quentin Tarantino (an American) was even the president... :|

Does not come as a suprise.

If you do anti Bush/Republican films to an organization that shares much of the same sentiment, this crap will happen.

Then again, Rush won several Marconi awards and what he says isn't always 100%, or just plain one sided.... heh

Sure Moore's win is political. You'd have to be ignorant not to realize that. Big deal.

Let him relish in his anti Bush/Republican hatred.

If the people of this country do not realize what is going on, then maybe we deserve an even bigger dolt, Kerry, as president, because quite frankly, we would deserve it.

My opinion.

Mr. Moore is a Muck-Racker (reporters from early 1900's who did stories on New York slums to get America to fix them by greatly exaggerating the problems.) We have problems in our society no doubt, but he blows them way out of the water and does so to catch everyones attention. Call him a god or call him a whore but because of assholes like him people change things. My two cents...

Very well said, Fioraon.

Just too bad those changes may not always be for the better.....

You are wrong, check your facts before posting:

1) Edwidge Danticat - Edwidge Danticat was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti in 1969. Reference: http://www.emory.edu/ENGLISH/Bahri/Danticat.html

There is a strong anti-Republican and anti-Bush agenda among the jury.

Example:

1) Kathleen Turner has been involved in public demonstrations against Bush. "Turner told the Washington Post's Mark Leibovich that she spent a half-hour with Kerry and has decided to throw her support behind him."

Good movie or political cheap shot?

I mean the guy has the mightiest job in the world. The more eyes inspecting him, the better i say.
