Yeah, unfortunately, if you can do this, they still do not take you on withput further questions :|
These are just the conditions you have to fulfill to be considered as a candidate for the selection/training process. :(

Not that I want to bragg here...but I can do all of the above. :D But I still am no member of GSG 9.

How are those compared to other requirments by other units globally?
That doesnt look hard. By looking at it, I can do all of those as well.

I ran 11.1 second 100 meter as a senior in High School (age 18)
I benched 100% of my body weight 20 times
At least 20 chin ups

Im assuming I can do the others.

What are similar requirments by other units?

If I remember correctly GSG9 is a law enforcement counter terrorist group.

GSG9 also does other things it would seem, like personnel protection.
Although as you said it is primarily a internal anti-terror group.
Two of their operatives were killed while escorting a german diplomat travelling to baghdad. For some unknown reason they decided to travel along a route that was identified before for being dangerous due to attacks and the like. Im not sure which city it was though. They havent found the bodies yet.

One body was found last week or so.

GSG 9: They pick you if you are intelligent enough and you have to have an iron will. The men which are picked are the best and there is no question that they will succeed after selection.

They will keep very sharp eyes on you while in selection course. Of course you have to be the best of your unit to apply. Everage is not welcomed. of course.

Again: This does not mean that someone can say: "Hey I can do anything of the above, I am a GSG-9 operator, where is my badge"?.

It means: If you fail with any of the above, you walk. If you can, you're eligible for selection, which was modeled after the SAS model. Training takes another 3 years, minimum.

Another example. Basic fitness standards for US Rangers (airborne) is, among others:
six chin ups, 52 push-ups and 62 sit-ups in less than two minutes, run two miles in under 15 minutes. Many people can do that. But that doesn't mean that you are a Ranger. It just means, if you can't do it, they tell you to hit a gym and will not waste time with you.
