Ok, so it look's that maybe up to 4.5 billion in cut's in UK defence programms could be about to take place:roll:, so let's get past the silliness of that and on to practical, what do you think should be cut, beside the civil servent's/who ever came up with the cut ideas B***s offp-), there is talk of the Astute SSN being cut to a mear 4, IMHO if that is the case, better off to scrap it entirly as 4 is worse then none at all as it gives the dangerous impression a capability that is non existent.....what say you?

First of all I need to state that I am not an expert on British Armed procurements but I was always following some of their projects. As a result I have some questions and points I'd like to make, hopefully the experts will be able to answer.

1. According to what I've read recently the number Type 45s was cut to 8 from 12 and yet only 6 have been financed. As of this month, what is the decision on 7th and 8th vessel?

2. Concerning the Astutes I know 4 have been financed, what is the situation for the finance of 5th, 6th and 7th platforms?

3. About the Fleet Air Arm, I was wondering how many JCAs will they finally receive, when will that occur (introduction to service)? Are they going to be operated solely by the Fleet Air Arm or this Joint Harrier Force scheme is going to be extended for the JCA too?

4. When will a decision be made for a carrierbourne AEW&C platform and how many are they roughly needed?

5. Many of the things I "know" may be total bollocks so be patient with me. :)

it will come down to can't send troops or anything else but we can nuke you:(

A big "yay" for spending billions on aircraft designed to fight yesterday's war, whilst the army bleeds itself dry on scraps and the Navy shrinks smaller and smaller.
