Based on satellite data, these images show Arctic sea ice in 1979, at left, and in 2003. The ice cover shrunk by 9 percent a decade over that time, NASA says.

All I can say is, that I hope to have died of old age before those things finally melt down...

The Oil will run out , the Polar icecaps will melt ,the ozonelayer will go AWOL , animals will get wiped out , food will run out , earth is getting overpopulated . Only good news is that Ill be dead befor that happens , I wonder if its a good idea to have kids ? , the world is getting more and more craptacular for each day

Someone should check out the Vostok ice core samples: the earth is not nearly as hot as it was prior to the last ice age. I'm glad the article didn't go into the details of how average temperature changes, but this is expected. We're coming out of an ice age and all the data show it. Someone should also check out the data on the Bering land bridge as well.
