Yeah, the ignorance of some American males has yet to cease to amuse me. You go right ahead and "declare" war on the Finns... you'll succeed only in pissing off a whole lot of Finns, over in "mustardland", as well as in America here. You would be surprised at the number of Finnish-Americans there are, I think. I also think that, despite the great deal of cold-weather training and experience of Finnish units, they would adapt quickly if such was expected of them, and they’d do their jobs regardless of any losses (“one or two daily”, which does tend to add up after awhile.) Why? Because we Finns have something called sisu. And yes, I’m being pro-Finnish because I am Finnish. Slam me for that if you want, I’m used to that sort of ignorance.

Ever heard of the Finn temper? A lot of us have it. It makes us ****e to defending ourselves and, quite often, our country and culture, from the ignorance of others who believe in their own supposed godliness. I once busted someone's nose for calling me a Lapp.... so maybe this is a topic you would be best served in avoiding. I would hate to see anybody flamed too hard for carrying on with their arrogant assumptions.

By the way, minun ystävä, I would like to point out that not all greatness is determined by direct, head-to-head confrontation and overt warfare. Sometimes subtlety wins more favour and renown than larger shows of force. (May I draw your attention to the Winter War of 30 November 1939 - 13 March 1940. Even though the Finns lost, they earned a well-deserved reputation for courage and skill in combat.)

The right wing America hates the palestinians and othe islamics so much.(biggotry is a popular thing with right wingers...) But they are so hypicritical for not seeing with there own "truth seeing eyes", that the republicans are parallel to the palestinians and other muslims when it comes to politics. They dont have there own belives, they dont have a free mind, they think they are right with God... lmao. Instead of a mullah, they listen to a president, senator, or anyone else who says what they want to hear. The off-shoring of american jobs, national debt, electronic voting(the manufacturer of e-voting machines is good friend and staunch supporter of Bush ) Education. Oh, and we supposedly went to help iraqis, but what about americans that need help?!90million americans live in poverty(Oh but I forgot, if I try and help someone within my own country im communist, but if I help someone outside of my country then Im a hero )

I've always wondered about the term "Jewish" being ethnic vs. religious. The state of Israel wasn't created until, what 1946 or so? A citizen of Israel is an Israeli - not necessarily Jewish. The religion of one's parent's doesn't dictate the ethnicity of a child, does it? I mean if 2 Asians converted to Judaism, and had a child, and the kid is asked what ethnic group they're from, they can hardly answer "Jewish"?

People have been living on that little strip of land for thousands of years. It's changed hands countless times. Ethnic groups have interbred (the young tend to be preoccupied with the private parts of the opposite ***, not necessarily their theology)...so by now who's to say who is what?

Kind of like the way fans root for their favorite football team - despite the fact that the players/coaches/home fields constantly change and only the uniform stays constant. Just an observation - I can't think of any other religion/nationality that gets so convoluted

Maybe I'm crazy but I'd join in a heartbeat. Applied for one of them greencards, don't hold much hope to getting one of those though. Guess I'll just have to accept that I'm not supposed to be fighting in another countrys military.

That's to bad I think. Unlike many of my countrymen who consider terrorism to be "the other guys" problem I consider it to be everyones problem. Seeing and hearing young people, men and women alike getting killed in the war on terror. Makes me feel that I ought to do something, why am I getting away so cheap.

My deepest respect to all active duty, reserve and former servicemembers.

Still haven't received any greencard though :( , but this years lottery isn't over yet woot . Man if I don't get one this year I'm gonna be like "man that sucks" :( , then I'm gonna wait till November and I'm like gonna apply for next years lottery. If I don't get it then I'm gonna be like 23 or somethin', and still without a greencard. Man I'm gettin' old, I'm like halfway to the nursing home. ;)
