Luftwaffe veteran Horst Rippert claims to have shot down famous French author's P-38 Lightning reconnaissance aircraft over the Mediterranean on July 31 1944.

L'homme qui a abattu l'avion de St-Exupéry aurait été retrouvé

PARIS (*******) - Un Allemand, qui se présente comme un ancien combattant de la Luftwaffe, déclare dans un livre à paraître qu'il est celui qui a abattu le 31 juillet 1944 au-dessus de la Méditerranée Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, l'auteur du "Petit prince".

Tell me, is it true that the fall of St. Exupery's plane was witnessed by some Royal Marines who were at the time in a beach assault exercise but happened to land on a pool of mud, thus adding a hilarious moment to the otherwise tragic circumstances of St. Exupery's death? I think there is some footage of the moment. We should add it here in this thread...
