first of all, i haven't read the chinese news on the tibet issue cuz i don't know where to look for it, and i haven't watched cnn's report cuz i don't have a TV, i just came across this forum when i am googling this incidence. based on the discussions i read here, i side with the chinese, why?
alot of people say that the "riot" (deomonstration, whatever) in tibet was just a peaceful gathering of innocent civilians. so how does this work? some guy one day, after work, just decided that he is fed up with the chinese government, so he rang up his buddies, and they started this huge demonstration?
if the demonstration was planned, then that is just a b!tchy thing to do because china is at a sensitive time right now, they are trying to change their image by hosting the olympics, they are caught up in the taiwan issue, the US is constantly after their ass for human right issues.... now after all those years of getting along, tibet suddenly busts out this separatism business... i don't like people who take advantage of a chaotic situation, like i said, it's a b!tchy thing to do. AND DAMN! SOME PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT BOYCOTTING THE OLYMPICS?? i've been waiting for 4 years for this, can't all this hate wait? it's not like the chinese soldiers attacked first, why can't the tibet separatists wait till the olympics' over? for the sake of all the other people in the world!
and about all the "chinese soldiers open fired" stuff. i am sure chinese soldiers fired, but did they fire in the sky? at the crowd? any pictures of dead bodies?
it's back to dirty politics again, maybe what happened was that the demonstrators yelled "**** china", and one soldier replied "**** dala Lama", so the demonstrators threw stones at the soldier...and man...throwing stones at people with guns if the dummiest thing to do, try doing that in my neighborhood, you will get shot so fast... so maybe the chinese soldier shot his ass, and damn, all media hell broke loose, chinese soldiers open fired.....
i mean, come on man, everybody reading this post, what would you personally do if a group of guys in your area started burning down stores, burning the american flag and yelling "**** USA"? what would you do common-sense-ly speaking?
