A couple of years ago I read on some article somewhere that Jean Cretchien considered using the army to prevent Quebec from seceeding from Canada if the yes votes win by only a slim majority during the 1995 independence referendum in a private cabinet meeting, was there any truth in this?

So far there has been only denials about any use of the armed forces in the event of a "Yes" vote in Quebec in '95.
What did happen was repositioning, some jets from Quebec airbases were sent on "detachment" to the US and Douth America, to stop them being used as possible leverage in some way. Also security was increased at some federal establishments.

Warning orders were given.
Trucks were ready and units were positioned.
That's all I have to say about that.
