Is this special ammo for the Carl Gustav or something? BTW, unless you're defending against human wave assaults I doubt its usefullness.

Yep thats exactly what it is. Fires the flechetes into a cone about 12m wide, i dont know how flat the trajectory would be though (which is what i was wondering).

It'd be an awsome ambush weapon, relatively quiet, large field of fire, set up two of them and you'd probably be able to wipe out or at least injure a sections worth, depending on how close they've bunched up.

I've heard that the americans in Vietnam had flechette rnds for the 40mm.
Would've worked awesome

Yeah ? I wonder how many you'd be able to fit in a 40mm, i wouldn't have thought that many.

Would a single flechette be leathal?

The experiment Steyr ACR rifle fired single flechettes. The results of gelatin tests showed that a flechette fired from the weapon entered the body, broke in half and both parts would continue to tumble around in the body and result in massive tissue damage. Now, the ACR fired the flechettes at insane velocities, and that might have contributed to the braking up, but nevertheless, i'm thinking (mind you) that a flechette entering the body at lower velocities would have the same effect. Just some thoughts...
